So it looks like BerryReader has gone at it again with another update. This time it’s more on some keyboard shortcut fixes and a few more minors. Here’s all the full changes for this version:
- Added ‘Share’ button to tollbar on touchscreen devices
- Moved ‘Share’ menu items into submenu (OS 6.0) or popup (pre OS 6.0)
- Fixed ‘T’ not focusing first article
- Fixed ‘N’ and ‘P’ not moving past date headers
- Reverted ‘Mark all as read’ to marking visible as read. Renamed list and menu item to ‘Mark items as read’. Changed ‘Mark all as read’ menu item to ‘Mark feed as read’
BerryReader is available at the PocketBerry Store, so grab a copy if you don’t already or update it by heading over to the Bellshare forums.

Here’s a new service that got spotted today. You can now purchase and install applications directly from the BlackBerry App World website itself. Before you’d just get rerouted to your mobile or have a link sent to you, but now you can do it all from the full desktop website itself. There’s a purchase link where you’ll get prompted to enter your BlackBerry ID and password, then you can enter card info or PayPal account. In addition, you can install the applications right there and have your BlackBerry connected to the computer.
I don’t see desktop downloading being that popular as the majority does prefer downloading over the air, but if this is something you’d like to do, go for it. Purchasing via computer is handy I think though. It’s just easier to view screenshots and read descriptions along with user reviews.

Here’s an awesome link for watching just about anything you’d like to right on your BlackBerry streaming. Typically stations you can stream online are no-name channels but there’s a lot of popular ones here including ABC, FOX, CNN, VH1, and more. Also there’s a bunch of radio stations but I haven’t gone through any of them yet as I still have one too many video stations to go through first. The quality is great and WiFi is of course suggested for a fluid stream. The best part is, there’s no application required.

It’s been a while since we saw anything come about BlackBerry Podcasts, the native podcast app for BlackBerry. Just last night it updated to v1.0.0.48 but bringing no change log as we expected. If any of you notice any changes here drop us a line but we’ll leave it at being a quiet bug fix for now.

So Steve Jobs took a jab at 7 inch tablets saying that they’re too small and making it clear that Apple has no interest in ever making tablets that small. Jim Balsillie, RIM’s co-CEO takes a jab back and replies with some interesting points:
“For those of us who live outside of Apple’s distortion field, we know that 7″ tablets will actually be a big portion of the market and we know that Adobe Flash support actually matters to customers who want a real web experience. We also know that while Apple’s attempt to control the ecosystem and maintain a closed platform may be good for Apple, developers want more options and customers want to fully access the overwhelming majority of web sites that use Flash. We think many customers are getting tired of being told what to think by Apple. And by the way, RIM has achieved record shipments for five consecutive quarters and recently shared guidance of 13.8 – 14.4 million BlackBerry smartphones for the current quarter. Apple’s preference to compare its September-ending quarter with RIM’s August-ending quarter doesn’t tell the whole story because it doesn’t take into account that industry demand in September is typically stronger than summer months, nor does it explain why Apple only shipped 8.4 million devices in its prior quarter and whether Apple’s Q4 results were padded by unfulfilled Q3 customer demand and channel orders. As usual, whether the subject is antennas, Flash or shipments, there is more to the story and sooner or later, even people inside the distortion field will begin to resent being told half a story.”

Nice! Lots of leakage on the BlackBerry Bold 9780 lately. Not so exciting since we know exactly what to expect of the device and nothing ground breaking has surfaced around. So here’s some another paparazzi shot of the BlackBerry Bold 9780 caught online once again – this time on the Vodafone Netherlands website. You can head over to Vodafone and check out the full deal.

The BlackBerry Style 9670 was announced officially by RIM and Sprint yesterday. Nobody wants it. There was no huge hype for it, and there still isn’t even after the announcement. It is true we haven’t had the device in our hands yet, but usually Berry users check out devices they find interest in from the beginning. Based on our poll we put up yesterday, there’s really no one looking forward to it. We put it head to head against the Bold 9780 and Torch 9800 to see what users preferred. Here were the results:
- BlackBerry Style 9670 – 7.07%
- BlackBerry Torch 9800 – 43.43%
- BlackBerry Bold 9780 – 49.49%
So there you have. Very little to no hype at all for the Style. Mose users are tuned into the refreshed Bold 9780 coming out before the holidays and the Torch 9800 which is already among us here in the United States and all over the world.

According to this screenshot from PhoneArena, the BlackBerry Storm 3 is still in play. There’s no telling what the whol cancellation rumors were all about or how old/new these screenshots are but it is very iffy. If rumors hold true and the Storm 3 is meant to be (that rhymes), then we should be seeing it sometime in November from Verizon Wireless. This screenshot above comes from the Cellebrite which is what Verizon uses to transfer address books from device to device.
