UberTwitter for BlackBerry is FINALLY out of beta.  It’s been awhile and we had a lot of fun testing out all the different versions.  UberTwitter quickly moved to the top becoming one of the most popular Twitter clients for BlackBerry offering both free and premium versions.  So now after well over a year of beta versions, version 1.0 has launched.  Below is the full change log of version 1.0:

  • Rich Facebook Posting – Optionally post your tweets directly to Facebook from your device. Pictures and location show up in your stream as rich media previews.
  • Bit.ly Pro – You asked and we delivered, now you can configure your own Bit.ly Pro account and track your own URL shortened links and take advantage of the advanced features that Bit.ly provides including the use of custom shortened URLs of your choosing.
  • Dismissible Ads – For those of you on touch screen devices with the Ad supported version, you can dismiss the ad at the bottom of the screen to give you more screen space.

Another Cyber Monday sale that has been extended through today is ZAGG.  I received an email which briefly touch upon some sort of site outage yesterday from the overload of users purchasing.  For that reason, the sale has been extended throughout all of today for those who could not make their purchases yesterday.  So whether or not you caught the sale yesterday, it’s going on through all of today also.  Unlike Case-Mate’s sale, ZAGG is putting out a 50% site-wide sale rather than just 25% which is still good.  So get half off everything, today only at ZAGG.com

We didn’t mention Case-Mate’s Cyber Monday sale yesterday, but luckily it has been extended through all of today as well.  So for those of you who felt you missed out, you’ll be able to get in on the sale today as well.  Everything from Case-Mate is on sale, saving you 25% at check out.  To receive the discount, use the coupon code “cyber10” at check out.  Case-Mate has great BlackBerry accessories including the famous Barely There case and Fuel Cases that charge your BlackBerry on the go while equipped on a belt clip or holstered in a case.

It’s official.  BlackBerry App World now rocks 15,000 applications and counting for you all to enjoy.  Still a bit behind iOS and Android (many of which seem useless any way), a wide variety of applications are available.  While browsing through App World, I realize there are one too many eBooks and themes out there that get counted as “apps.”  Themes is something RIM needs to work on through the approval process of App World as I see too many that really don’t qualify as being a whole new theme to download.  Some are stocked out Precision style themes with different backgrounds or will just have a “cooler” swipe when going from screen to screen.

There’s no doubt about it that the first three BlackBerry PlayBook webcasts were a success.  There were lots of developers attending, and a tremendous amount of feedback put through.  RIM has now officially announced the fourth BlackBerry PlayBook webcast.  This webcast will cover:

  • Creating an application icon for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
  • Building optimized screens for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet
  • Learn how to apply skins to your UI controls
  • Live Q&A with experts from Research In Motion Limited and Adobe

Carrier News, Rumors »

According to a tip received over at BerryReview, Bell Canada is expected to launch the BlackBerry Style 9670 later on today.  The launch date was originally supposed to be November 23rd, but then get delayed.  The pricing of the device is $49.95 on a 3-year strings attached contract or $399.95 for 30 day no contract.

That’s all there is from over the border so far.  Let’s see how the BlackBerry Style 9670 goes for other carriers.  I have seen a few walking around with Sprint branded Styles but don’t think the device is really getting as much buzz at the moment.  Perhaps Bell will do well with it.  Who’s on Bell now and waiting for the Style?

Pretty cool concept here, but it’s not going to fly anywhere officially.  This was a RIM sponsored project at the Art Center College of Design by Kiki Tang and Daniel Yoon.  The shape reminds me a bit of the BlackBerry 8700 series and is pretty diamond shaped.  Definitely a device that stands out.

So we’re not going to get so much into detail here other than it is just a concept device which detects your mood using the mood ring and shares your emotions with your friends.  What do you think of the user interface?  Enjoy the clip below after the jump.

Of course, how could we forget the BlackBerry Curve 8520? So the Bold 9000 and Curve 8900 got the OS leak, making it routine for the Curve 8520 to as well.  Here’s OS 5.0.0.1036 for the BlackBerry Curve 8520.  It’s the latest OS leak for this model as well as for the original Bold 9000 and Curve 8900.  It is a leak so download and install at your own risk.  Also, let me take this as an opportunity to remind you all that BlackBerry 6 will NOT be coming to the BlackBerry Curve 8520.  We’re still getting tweets and comments asking about a launch date for that, when we specifically said that the device is not supported.  So best bet is to put one of these later builds on your Curve 8520.  Links after the jump!

I’m well aware that BlackBerry 6 OS is already leaked for the BlackBerry Curve 3G, but perhaps it’s a bit too buggy for some of you to handle, or your just don’t like 6.0 as a whole.  In any case, a newer 5.0 build has leaked out for the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300, making me wonder why RIM is working on that rather than an official 6.0 for it.  Perhaps this 5.0 build is for a 9300 out of the box somewhere in the world.  Either way, here’s 5.0.0.1007 for the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300.  Download and install at your own risk.  Links after the jump!

You know the deal by now.  Usually when the BlackBerry Bold 9000 gets an OS leak, so does the BlackBerry Curve 8900.  It’s just how it is, sometimes.  Any way, here’s the same OS build we saw previously for the Bold 9000 but for the Curve 8900 instead.  Same deal here – download and install at your own risk guys.  Links after the jump!
