Another remote security application has just launched today – this one called Track and Protect.  Klomptek has released both a free version and premium version of Track and Protect.  The free version does quite a bit for you while the premium goes a little bit further with remote locks, wipes, and will even take a front face picture (if your device has a front face camera, which it probably does not any way).  You can head over to their site and check out all the free and premium services.  If you’re looking to try the application, click the link below to download it over the air today.  With the free version, you’ll be able to:

  • Periodic passcode check on phone
  • Passcode check at phone startup
  • Auto phone lock at SIM change
  • Lock screen with owner details and return reward
  • Report thief’s location at SIM change
  • Report thief’s phone number by SMS
  • Send thief’s photo after 3 wrong unlock attempts

Klomptek Releases Track and Protect (TnP) Mobile Device Security Service
for BlackBerry

The third supported platform for TnP, users can now monitor, track and secure lost or stolen BlackBerry devices from a remote location

Zaandam, The Netherlands – November 23, 2010Klomptek, an innovative software development company specializing in mobile device management and security solutions, is pleased to announce that its Track and Protect (TnP) security application is now available for BlackBerry smartphones.  TnP for BlackBerry joins previously released versions for Symbian and Android in an increasing lineup of platforms supported by the application that allows users to monitor, lock and wipe data from their lost or stolen cell phones.

TnP is a remote management tool and security application that can be used to secure content on a mobile device through remote commands sent via the TnP web service.  Users are also able to track the location of the missing phone in real time through the TnP online mapping system, with the ability to listen in and capture images of the phone’s current possessor.  All features are operable even after illegal SIM change.  TnP is unique in its approach of protecting users’ property in that it allows the collection of enough information — including current location, new phone number, operator ID and audio of the phone’s surroundings — to generate a substantive and actionable police report.

Klomptek launched a public beta program on October 21, 2010, allowing BlackBerry users to test features of the TnP application on their devices in real-world scenarios.  Feedback gathered from the beta test was extremely positive, including that of one user who successfully retrieved a lost BlackBerry by snapping photos of the device’s current location through the TnP website.  Despite having no GPS coverage and inaccurate mapping information, the owner managed to track the device to a metro train floor, the location of which had been confirmed by train sounds heard through the application’s remote audio feature.

TnP for BlackBerry uses a standard SMS listener to efficiently protect the device with very low battery drain.  Coverage is global, allowing users to protect and recover their BlackBery devices anywhere in the world.  Further, the application’s proprietary SMS-command encryption algorithms safeguard data transfers, making TnP impenetrable to passcode theft.  TnP has recently been voted the most innovative product by a peer jury and members of the Telecom Society (TSOC).

Definitely a must have App. For optimal protection you need some credits (paid about 7$ for it) as the solution uses fast SMS as device management command carrier. By far the most Professional and well thought remote security management tool there is. Period. Listening to your device and making remote camera shots is awesome!
