I am well aware that this application is not savvy or really “useful.” I am also well aware that the Android Market and Apple App Store are full of fart applications also, so I guess BlackBerry users would like in on the action too.  MegaFarts is a simple application equipped with 10 different fart sounds you can play on the spot or time it out.  Features include:

  • 10 unique fart sounds
  • high quality
  • On demand or delay fart
  • export fart sound to use as ringtone or alert sound
  • volume control

MegaFarts is only 99 cents to purchase from the PocketBerry Store.  I guess if you’re looking to prank people or just make your friends laugh, it’s worth getting.  I haven’t tried it but if any of you do, let us know how you like it.

Another free application has hit the PocketBerry Store today.  This one’s called mVideo Gallery and it allows you to view video thumbnails on your BlackBerry.  Surely we see this feature by default on BlackBerry 6 devices, but not all of you are on that OS at the moment.  Features include:

  • Automatically add new video thumbnails.
  • Delete and rename videos.
  • Grid view and List view.
  • Instant preview.
  • Instant search.
  • Media Home shortcut.
  • Share videos via Email, MMS and Bluetooth.
  • Sort video by name, size, modified date and folder in natural order/ reverse order.
  • Video recorder shortcut.

Even though I am running BlackBerry 6 OS, I went ahead and gave the application a go on my 5.0 Bold  just to try it out.  The user interface is clean and fairly easy to move around with.  It doesn’t look like there’s any support for the Torch, which I don’t think any of you will be disappointed about any way.  Once again, mVideo Gallery is free to download from the PocketBerry Store so hit the link below to download it over the air.

The official NFL Game Center 2010 mobile app has officially launched for BlackBerry.  With this app, you’ll be able to get audio highlights of every game, have customized game alerts for your favorite team, watch post game press conference video, and more.  Of course there’s other good additions like live scoreboards which is a given with the application.  There are other freebie application out there, but I am definitely a huge fan of this app’s UI as it’s really easy to use.

There was always a premium and free version of QuickPull but it looks like that has been eliminated since this freebie version that’s up in App World has premium features to it.  Perhaps we’ll see another version roll out with extended features as the paid app.  New features in QuickPull v5 include:

  • QuickPull 5 sports a new “fluid” UI, giving your device the visual appeal it deserves while making it intuitive to get things done.
  • The “Scheduler Dashboard” makes it even easier to schedule automated QuickPulls and provides you with an at-a-glance overview of your schedule history and settings.
  • New social integration with Twitter enables you to effortless let people know you’re about to be MIA, or to brag about how much easier it is to use QuickPull 5 than break a nail on your battery door.
  • Finally, after each QuickPull you’ll receive a personalized “Post-Reset Report” showing you just how much memory you gained by running that reset. Instant (well, 5 minute or so) satisfaction.

Head over to BlackBerry App World to download QuickPull v5 for free today.

Both the BlackBerry Style 9670 and red BlackBerry Torch 9800 are expected to head over to Bell Canada on November 23rd officially, but shipping to stores on the 15th.  Just like the Sprint version, the Style rocks a 8GB micro SD card included. in the device.  The red BlackBerry Torch 9800 will be priced at $179.99 with a 3 year contract while the BlackBerry Style 9670 only has a confirmed retail price of $399.99.  It’s nice to see a carrier get two of the latest BlackBerry devices on the market.  Unfortunately everywhere else you would get one or the other with the GSM and CDMA restricted carriers.

Rogers has gone off and launched the BlackBerry Bold 9780 officially today.  The price is as low as $149.99 with a 3-year strings attached contract.  Then when you jump to a 2-year, the prices flies up to $399.99.  A 1-year plan brings you up to $449.99 where you should just dish out $50 more to get the device without any sort of agreement.  In any case, if you were waiting around for the BlackBerry Bold 9780 to make its way to you at Rogers, you can now order one online.

What is this all about? We’ve heard of a BlackBerry 9900 surface back in the day, but that sort of disappeared and most likely evolved into another device.  Now we’re seeing the number come back again in Vodafone sale systems.  We’ve had a big year of device launches including the Pearl 3G, Curve 3G Torch, Style, Bold 9650, and even the PlayBook getting announced.  There’s not much we know about up ahead as far as a new BlackBerry handheld goes.  All we do know is that QNX OS will becoming to future handheld devices after the PlayBook launches, so maybe a 9900 could be included somewhere there.  Again, there’s not enough of anythng here other than this screenshot as seen above.

This is the first “Love What You Do” theme commercial for the BlackBerry Style 9670.  We see here both a shoemaker and a singer from a band and how they like the device.  These commercials definitely make BlackBerry smartphones look good.  I relieved some of my hatred of the Style when I started using it, but the commercial makes it look quit savvy and trendy, making you want to grab one.

One funny thing I noticed is when the shoemaker snaps a picture with the camera he holds the device funny since the camera placement is on the top of the bottom of the flip rather than the top face.
