I’m loving this because the UI looks a lot like the native Facebook application for BlackBerry. Also, Facebook chat has been missing from the native application for way too long now as we get closer to a newer version which still does not have it. Either way, Chat on Facebook is a great application for those who feel they are missing out on the action. It’s only $4.99 to purchase at the PocketBerry Store. Features include:
- - Shows online, idle and offline friends with profile pictures!
- - Initiate a chat or respond to a chat request from a friend
- - Integrated chat screen similar to BlackBerry Messenger
- - Stays connected in background
- - Popup dialog, vibrate, sound and LED notification when a new chat message arrives
- - Fully customizable notifications
There are other applications available which do include Facebook chat such as Trillian but this application focuses strictly on Facebook and the UI is by far the best and simplest in my opinion.
Rumors »

There’s no solid proof here or even screenshots of any kind but I have heard from two AT&T store reps that a new BlackBerry Bold is on the way at the end of this month. There hasn’t been any rumors leaking around on this one yet, and we can’t base facts off someone’s spoken word so take it in as a rumor, and nothing more. If you all recall, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 did launch for both AT&T and T-Mobile within the same month (November 2009) where T-Mobile held it first then AT&T received it about two weeks later.

According to this leaked image from TmoNews, a camera-less BlackBerry Bold 9780 will be available at T-Mobile. The launch date still seems to be November 17th for both the camera and camera-less versions for only $129.99 with a 2-year strings attached contract. It looks like the camera-less version will only be coming in black color which I could imagine business professionals who can’t use camera devices on site would probably prefer black any way.

It looks like Telus comes first in line for launching the BlackBerry Bold 9780. This device has been circling around in leaks for a long time where the highest interest points here are a better camera, enhanced memory, and of course BlackBerry 6 OS out of the box. We’re already familiar with how the device feels since it is based off the same shell as the original BlackBerry Bold 9700. Telus has officially made it available on their website for the following prices:
- $99.99 – 3 year contract
- $399.99 – 2 year contract
- $449.99 – 1 year contract
- $499.99 – No contract
You can head over to Telus to check out more on the BlackBerry Bold 9780 including images of it running BlackBerry 6 OS.

It’s sad to see people spending money on flashlight applications when there are one too many available for free. Here’s another one called The Light which just hit the PocketBerry Store. We really don’t get emails on this one requesting it, but I do see the premium flashlight application in App World high up in the list of popular apps.
OS Updates »

What’s a better way to start off the week other than getting a leaked 6.0 OS? Over the weekend 6.0.0.333 popped up over at BBLeaks for the BlackBerry Bold 9650. We haven’t seen much OS leakage for this device in a while although it was the first to receive a 6.0 leak. It was really exciting to see it for the first time on a non-QWERTY device but it just wasn’t that stable. We’re hoping to see more stability in this version. Click any of the links below to download 6.0.0.333 for the BlackBerry Bold 9650.

I’m loving it in white, but of course some of you might have a thing for the sunset red. Others may still prefer the original charcoal. My only problem with the white BlackBerry Torch 9800 is that I’m afraid of the back cover picking up lots of dirt. The BlackBerry Bold 9700 looked super sexy in white, but the back leather battery door got dirty really fast and lost its clean look over time. In any case, both the sunset red and pure white BlackBerry Torch 9800 are available over at AT&T. Prices have dropped to $99.99 but we still have it cheaper in our phone store for only $29.99
- Check out the BlackBerry Torch 9800 at AT&T >>
- Purchase the BlackBerry Torch with an upgrade or new line for $29.99 >>

Here’s something I noticed over at the BlackBerry App World for free that might be useful to a lot of you. As you know, only BlackBerry 6 supports tabbed browsing which was a huge jump for many of us since we were handicapped from doing so in the past. Surely there was third party browsers such as Opera and BOLT that allowed you to, but nothing for the native browser.
SecondTab is a free application that allows you to open multiple tabs in your browser, even if you don’t have BlackBerry 6. It’s free to download and available over at App World.

Evernote is definitely one of my favored applications for BlackBerry. It allows me to keep all my notes for everything all in one place. I used to be big on the MemoPad (I still am) but for the majority of my notes, I keep in Evernote so that I can easily access them on my laptop or even iPad without having to do any sort of syncing. Evernote is also a free app which is always great and welcomes you more to use as well. Over the weekend, it got an update making it support the BlackBerry Torch 9800 which is great new for all you waiting on this one to happen.

It looks like the mobile site for streaming videos over at BBC is no longer going to be the norm as they have just rolled out an application for United Kingdom residents. There was an application before but did not support all BlackBerry devices, where this iPlayer now supports the Torch as well. If you’re in the UK and would like to catch up with your BBC, head over to App World and download it today.
