New BBM Spam: Message from “Jim Balsamic” says to forward message or pay $25 penalty!

Well they could have at least spelled the name right.  The man isn’t the founder of vinegar.  I’m not sure if the spelling was done on purpose or not, but it is funny.  For those who don’t know, RIM’s co-CEO is Jim BALSILLIE, not Balsamic! So this mass message as seen in the screenshot above has been circulating around since yesterday.  I was emailed it once before from an anonymous readers, then woke up this morning only to see that a few of my friends received it.  Again, it was just way to funny seeing “Jim Balsamic.”  The message says that you must forward that message to all of your friends or else you get booted off BBM and have to pay $25 extra each month on your bill.  That’s just terrible.

Have any of you received this one? Anyone fall for it?

I received this this morning and it just pisses me off that sensible ADULTS believe this crap. If RIM has an update for me then THEY will send it. I don’t need a forward to tell me about an update from billion dollar company.

  • Tsoliman

thanks for the post.. question though, how did you capture the screen shot you posted?

  • Pei Carthy

haha. received it this morning though mine said its on the news so it has to be true at the end with $ changed to £ for uk purposes lol! it took one search of jim balsamic (as in the vinegar on my fancy crisps i eat) to find out this BS. i wish people would check before they send this rubbish to my phone, .

i like this part ” please do not ignore this message” it is saying i am a fake u dumb fu cks
get a fuc king life eh and think for once with your tiny lite brains for fuck sakes

  • Sfgin415

I received this notice twice. I’m sure our carriers would have more $$$ to spend on circulating an IMPERATIVE message to its users. I would assume they would have attached the message to our bills rather than having all of us FWD it to each other…duuuh!

  • Ohuaoi

Hey, while you’re busy pointing out spelling, you should probably learn “should’ve”, “would’ve”, “could’ve” rather than continuing to say “could of”.

  • Ilov3donuts

OMFG IM GONNA KILL THE NEXT PERSON WHO SENDS ME THIS DUMB FREAKING CRAP LIKE HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE

  • Edward

Hah, now we have phone Trolls. XD I’ve received it a couple times, and every time, I just write back “He’s the CEO of RIM, not a tasty, tasty salad topping.” :D

  • Mihaela

yup, just got it from one of my friends just the charge for “re-connection” raised to 25GBP

  • Vasandani Sony

Got this! I replied with one fantastic forward that I got:
“Blackberry has also announced that you must slap yourself against the wall or jump of a bridge or say “Hakuna Matata” until you realize that a freaking forward cannot affect your phone system or change any displays!” ITS ON THE NEWS SO ITS TRUE!!!
    Lol!!!

  • Tarsha

I didnt forward the text but like 5 of BBM contacts are having problems with their pics…..so they have to have some type of problem

  • FsdfS

oooh it annnoys me about 7 people sent it to me! its fake!

  • Emzy_411

Haha yeah, first thing i did was look on the internet who he was!
Told my mates it and their all panicking that their gna have to pay £25! Im laughing so badly at them right now.

  • Snellie54

Freaked me out this morning when I received this message – like many others I googled the name Jim Balsamic and realised this is a complete joke – but NOT funny. The thought of having to pay another £25 a month on my contract is a very scary thought!!!

  • Ricky

I’m curious, anyone know as to what’s in it for the masterminds of such a spam? If there is indeed a “head spammer” what do they gain from something like this?

  • Celina Gray
