BlackBerry Curve 8980 simulator spotted online for download

We heard bits and pieces of the very Bold 9700 series lookin’ BlackBerry Curve 8980.  It’s most likely going to replace the BlackBerry Curve 8910 we see in Asia as we’ve seen leaked images of the 8980 branded for China Mobile already in the past.  There’s nothing crazy to see about simulator as it’s only running OS 5.0.  There’s no telling if it will ever support BlackBerry 6 as we don’t know much of anything on this device other than a few specs: 256MB memory, it runs EDGE with no 3G, 480 x 360 resolution, 3.2MP camera, trackpad, WiFi, GPS, and supports UMA.

I really don’t see this as being a device ever launched in the US because it’s pretty useless versus other 3G BlackBerry models we have available at the moment.  Why go for the Curve 8980 when you can get a Bold 9700 with better specs? How much cheaper could they possibly offer the Curve?  So yeah, we’re sticking with the assumption that the 8980 is set to hit in Asia only.  Click the link below to download or check out the simulator

I have no idea why RIM would be releasing this phone with little to no upgrades from the 8900.

I just recently purchased a Bold 9780 and i love it, i upgraded from a Curve 8900. I really liked the 8900 but it was lacking upgradability and had no 3G. As far as i can tell with this “new” Curve it doesn’t even have 3G once again…whats the point?….at least it has Draft-N though lol.

    I’m very happy with the 9780 : D
