So we were between the BlackBerry Bold 9780 which is only on T-Mobile at the moment and the BlackBerry Torch 9800 for AT&T. We decided to go with the Torch since we already have one here brand spankin’ new and sealed ready to go.
All you have to do to participate in this giveaway is drop a line below in the comments and retweet or Facebook Like this post. This contest will run until Wednesday December 29th midnight! Winner will be announced on the 30th. Good luck to you all!

A few months back, we had the opportunity to review the 2011 Ford Fiesta and how the BlackBerry communicated well with it. Unfortunately it was an older version of sync where application syncing was not supported. Next week, we’ll be getting a 2011 Ford Edge equipped with the latest version of SYNC where we’ll be able to demonstrate applications and how they work well between the vehicle and BlackBerry.
In the video above, we see OpenBeak, a Twitter client for BlackBerry sync with the SYNC system. The vehicle reads tweets out loud through the speakers which is pretty cool. There’s other applications to sync and we’ll be sure to demo them out for you once we get our Ford review car.

Rhapsody for BlackBerry which has been in beta has finally come out official. Rhapsody is a music application that lets you listen to any songs you want on demand for $10 a month. It’s not like Pandora or Slacker as you can listen to any individual songs or albums and then create your own playlists from there. They have free trials available at App World so you don’t have to commit into anything from the get go.

In this funny British clip, we see an old man returning a BlackBerry fruit but the conversation going back and forth seems to be targeted towards the actual BlackBerry smartphone. There’s a little touch of Apple in towards the end, so no one gets left out (except Android). Enjoy the clip!

HootSuite launched a few months ago for BlackBerry, but the turnaround didn’t seem so great at first. It was still a first release so there’s always room to add more features and see what users like. Now HootSuite for BlackBerry has been updated adding some awesome features that might change your mind about the app (in a good way of course).
- Facebook Places – update your profile, including your geo-location info, using this ground-breaking integration
- Foursquare check-in – let your friends know who’s the mayor of your favorite nest with this interactive location-based game
- Twitter Locations – add neighborhood or venue data to your Tweets using Twitter’s native geo tools

Just last week, MTS launched the BlackBerry Style 9670, and it looks like the device has entered as a holiday promotion item already. As the price was only 100 bucks to begin with, MTS is putting it out for free from now until the end of the month. Also, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is running at $29.99 and the Storm 2 at $99.99. This is a bit funny to see the older devices holding their prices higher than the hot and fresh Style which just launched for the carrier.

According to some Kaufman Brothers speculation, RIM will be launching the BlackBerry Torch or a similar style device for Verizon Wireless sometime between January and March. Now there’s been light rumors floating around about another Torch style device in production by RIM at the moment, one of which is smaller in size. Again, this is just speculation and nothing is really confirmed here.

Druglord Wars 2 is based on the game Dope Wars or Drug Wars that’s been around for years and years. You can grab a copy of it today for only $1.49, saving you 70% instantly.

Surely Facebook for BlackBerry integrates friends’ birthdays with Calendar, but here’s TheBirthdayApp which pulls birthdays from contacts in your contacts list and reminds you when they are coming up. Simple as that. There’s a few options in the application as seen above that let you customize when you’d like to be reminded and so on.
