A new rumor is now floating around from the folks over at N4BB talking about a BlackBerry Monaco, which is expected to be the BlackBerry Storm 3 replacement.  The Monaco is expected to rock a 3.7 inch touchscreen, trackpad, 512MB of memory, BlackBerry 6 OS (most likely 6.1),  and a “possible” 1GHz processor.  RIM is already up to 800MHz at the moment with the leaked BlackBerry Apollo we saw today, so maybe 200 more megahertz is what we’ll be getting next.

This leaves us with another mystery.  Is the device CDMA? Since it’s expected to replace the BlackBerry Storm 3, we strongly believe it should be CDMA.  Another question that surfaces is whether or not it will be a Verizon exclusive (assuming it is CDMA).

So back to the original rumor, production of the device has started according to the rumor alongside with a horizontal keypad in testing at RIM.  Perhaps the BlackBerry Monaco will sport a horizontal keyboard? If so, I’m not interested but I’d like there to be a clearer picture of this device already.  It’s all just a rumor until we hear further official details.
