Leaked: BlackBerry Storm 3 image & specs leaked! 800×480 resolution, 1.2GHz, & More!

Just when we thought the leakage was over, more has rolled in.  This one’s the device many have been waiting for as it’s been such a gray area for months and months.  The code name is Monaco but we’re still referring to it as the BlackBerry Storm 3 until RIM makes some official announcements.  Hit the jump for the full specs on the device and more.

  • 1.2GHz processor
  • 3.7-inch 800 x 480 capacitive display
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
  • Tri-band UMTS/HSPA
  • 5-megapixel camera with 720p video recording
  • 8GB eMMC (storage for apps and data), 512MB of RAM
  • microSD slot
  • Magnetometer
  • Proximity sensor
  • Accelerometer
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • 2.4GHz b/g/n and 5GHz a/n Wi-Fi + UMA
  • 3G Mobile hotspot
  • Optical trackpad
  • 1230 mAh battery
  • BlackBerry OS 6.1
  • OpenGL ES 2.0

Some interesting specs include the large 800 x 480 resolution.  That’s definitely incredible and definitely what RIM needs in an all touchscreen device to compete with the others.  480 x 360 just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Next is the processor.  It looks like the BlackBerry Torch 2 and the BlackBerry Storm 3 will both be holding a 1.2GHz processor.  Finally!

It’s going to ship out with BlackBerry OS 6.1 as the other two leaked devices have been rumored to as well.  Also, a trackpad has been added which seems to be a missing link in the current Storm family.  It just comes so handy on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 we have now and RIM realizes that.

Lots of exciting stuff rolling out from RIM this year – can’t wait!
