According to an interview with Jeff McDowell, RIM’s senior vice-president for business and platform marketing, the BlackBerry PlayBook is said to have 4,000 third party applications available for download at the launch date which is expected to be March.

Many have been fussing saying that the PlayBook could indeed be better than an iPad or Android tablet, but it’s all in accordance with application quality and quantity as well.  I’m hoping there’s a lot of good applications out there with great user interfaces, brilliant and rich with color and graphics.
