It’s been a while since we heard anything about Seesmic for BlackBerry, and now they have rolled out a small update. Here’s the full change log:
- Improvements in the photo picker in the composer
- Display of who retweeted a tweet inline in the timeline
- Added “Reply All” feature when multiple users are mentioned in a Tweet
- Improvements in the attachment of your location in Tweets
- Tweetphoto has been changed to Plixi (new name)
- Connection improvements in the Twitter Search section
- Bug Fixes
I’m not sure how popular Seesmic for BlackBerry is, but I do see Seesmic being used a lot when browsing users on Twitter. These folks could be using it on mobile or computer and there is no real way of telling. In any case, you can pick up this update by clicking the link below or head over to the help desk for more notes. Let us know how you like it.

A few months ago, Starbucks launched their BlackBerry application allowing you to manage your Starbucks card balance and make mobile payments if the Starbucks you were at supported it. At that time, mobile payments were still being beta tested and now Starbucks has announced mobile payments to be live and active at every United States location. Now for the downside, the Starbucks mobile app still does NOT support the BlackBerry Torch. The nerve..

Last time around, we saw a small update of Google Maps going to v4.5.1. This time, it’s v4.5.2, and once again no change log! Gotta love Google with their updates – if it’s nothing ground breaking or major, expect to hear nothing about it! You can grab the update by pointing your BlackBerry browser to m.google.com/maps

In this show, Leo Laporte shows off some gadgets from CES 2011, one of which is the BlackBerry PlayBook! So we’ve already seen the PlayBook and a lot of what it can do, so this video isn’t such a big deal anymore. Either way, it’s nice to see the PlayBook take its rounds with different crowds of people before it launches. Usually companies are shaky showing off beta products, but RIM jumped right into it, and the turnaround was great.

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold 9700 has been completely pulled from AT&T’s website when browsing smartphones. However there are older devices on here, far more than the Bold 9700 including the BlackBerry Curve 8520 and the very ancient Curve 8900. Now there’s no real telling if this was a pull from the website, or if the device is out of stock. On the other hand, we usually see “out of stock” on items that appear to be out of inventory.
Could it be, could it be? We want to see the BlackBerry Bold 9780 launch for AT&T. We’ve seen leaked videos of an AT&T branded Bold 9780 in the past, but we have been waiting far too long now.

I was thinking for a while that AT&T would hop on the BlackBerry PlayBook first and found myself wrong and disappointed when Sprint announced a 4G model for the summer. We saw the word “exclusive” get thrown around at that time, but maybe it was used in terms of “4G PlayBook” and not so much carrier oriented PlayBook. An LTE version has been expected to launch later in the year as well, but based on a rumor over at CIO, a 3G model is expected to launch soon after the WiFi model does at an estimated time period of end of March or early April.

Attention customers who are looking to switch to Sprint now – data plans are going up another $10. At the moment, users who have 4G devices are already paying that extra, but now 3G users will even be billed this same rate. Fair or not, that’s how it’s going to be since Sprint claims that their users are downloading a lot and making high use out of the data plan. I definitely see this occurring with all the rooting and WiFI hotspotting of their 4G Android devices. But BlackBerry is harmless and does not tank as much data as the rest, unless you go for apps such as Tether.
