I see a lot of mobile providers coming out with limited data plans. AT&T was a huge shocker in earlier 2010 with their 2GB cap. T-Mobile has rolled out limited data for select plans. Sprint still has unlimited as does Verizon, who is rumored to get limited data plans in the near future.
I see that a lot of consumers have been looking at ways to cut down cost on their wireless bills so they look at limited data plans since they are relatively cheaper than the unlimited plans. These plans however can be confusing. What can I do on a 200mb plan or with 100mb? What is an mb or a kb or a gb? Also, the concerns of data overages and the related cost are no fun either. If this sounds like you then you want to look at Mobile Data Alerter by E-office Mobile b.v.

This is an interesting video clip about a BBM Group called “Souls of Speed” which started out between a few people as a chat group for organizing small legal street races in India. The group has expanded and reached out to over 1,500 members and counting. Events and pictures are all shared through the group. These racers really do fancy the BlackBerry as a communication device here. Check out the full video.

So CES 2011 has officially wrapped up, and we’ve been really overwhelmed with all the BlackBerry PlayBook buzz going on there. RIM had displayed a large showcase this year and the PlayBook was obviously their big deal or main course rather. In this video I spotted at the BlackBerry Youtube channel, you’ll see attendees speak about the PlayBook giving you their testomonials on it.

Mac posted earlier on Skype for the BlackBerry PlayBook and its video chatting capability. I’m not so sure if my mind’s in the wrong place or not, but a Chatroulette application would be quite funny to have. I actually think that a lot of users would download it and it would certainly make its way in the top 10 apps in App World.

So Skype is obviously coming out for the BlackBerry PlayBook. During CES 2011, there was a screenshot during one of RIM’s presentations showing BlackBerry App World on the PlayBook really quickly. What I didn’t pay much attention to, but Ronen from BerryReview pointed out, is that Skype is listed as one of the applications.

I have had a lot of people tell me to get great accessories for your BlackBerry go to shopblackberry.com I had stopped by once or twice. I thought to myself they should make this site an app so you can shop for your device from your device. I think they were listening to my thoughts because they have a shop BlackBerry app available in App World.

Mobile internet browsing will be filtered in the near future over in Indonesia, as the government as requested. Of course along with that request comes a threat of shutting off internet browsing as a whole for BlackBerry devices if RIM does not comply. It seems real easy for governments to threaten RIM nowadays as we saw it all over the last several months with the BlackBerry ban.
Currently, internet is already “monitored” and filtered in Indonesia as that was requested last year. Indonesia currently holds about 2 million BlackBerry users, so this isn’t something RIM will just turn their heads on.
