Well we thought that was going to be it as far as leaked BlackBerry devices of 2011 went, but I guess we were wrong. We also wrote up a post about the new BlackBerry Curve not having a camera flash anymore, but it looks like it is now. The backside seems to be the same form factor of the Curve 3G we know today, but a camera flash has been put into place.
Now, as for some “specs,” it’s half as thin as the BlackBerry Bold 9700/9780 and rocks an EM-1 battery which is super thin (smaller than what we have already). There’s no model number for this one but it is codenamed “Sedona.” Also under the hood, we see 512MB of memory – which we’ve only seen in the CDMA Curve 3G. It’s running OS 6.1 which is what we had expected. That’s pretty much it so far. I’m definitely excited to see an elite series of the Curve hit the streets that isn’t so basic anymore.

From what I understand, TexTango pays you money and prizes to text out promotional ads and such to your friends. I don’t know if this is worth losing your friends over with the consistent spam or not, but this might be your cup of tea. They have their application available for free at the PocketBerry Store as well for those interested in checking it out. You do have to go to TexTango.com first and create a free acount as well. Payments are made every month via debit cards as the site says. I don’t know, you guys be the judges on this one. There’s a promo video above you can check out about it but other than that, good luck to those who proceed – let us know how it goes.

What is Bing? Just kidding. But honestly, I haven’t heard anything about Bing or any of their mobile applications in a very long time. If you’re one of those who have the Bing app on your BlackBerry, there’s an update for it that actually adds some goodies:
- Homepage Hotspots: If you have a little time to spend and want to explore the day’s image, point around it until you find a hotspot. Hidden in the image, hotspots are intended intrigue and inform you. If you look, you’ll find four of them every day. Each gives you a chance to find out more about the subject of the image.
- Flight Status Instant Answer: Never miss a flight again. Simply enter your flight number and Bing for mobile will provide you with the status at a glance.
- Bing Image Search – Find the perfect image while you’re on the go. Bing Image Search provides you with gorgeously rendered images formatted for easy viewing on your phone.
- “What’s Nearby” – Bing for Mobile has a smart experience for finding local listings like restaurants and attractions using your location to serve up “what’s nearby.”

Hedone Design just launched a new theme called Cubix. In all honesty, this theme reminds me of how the 80′s films envisioned the “future.” The icons are all blocked with no pictures on them, but the name of the app instead as you can see. The battery and signal meters are all in blocks up top which goes really well with how the rest of the theme is, and lives up to its name as “Cubix.” Grab a copy for $6.99 at the PocketBerry Store.

Facebook Chat applications for BlackBerry have become quite trendy and seem to be popping up a lot. It has become overwhelming testing and trying out different ones to see which suits best. Obi over CB spotted a new app called Improved Chat for Facebook which in my opinion it is indeed improved. Features include:
- Securely login to facebook chat
- Shows Homescreen notifications
- Choose what sound you want to play for a new message in profiles
- Update your Facebook status from inside of the application
- Chats save automatically and to delete them you highlight the chat you want to remove and click the BlackBerry button then press delete selected chat.
I’m definitely fond of the homescreen notifications and the capability of updating your Facebook status within the application. Improved Chat for Facebook definitely stands out as far as Facebook chat applications for BlackBerry go. Normally it’s $2.49 to purchase but you can save 50 cents today and grab it for only $1.99.

I came across an awesome article over at the BlackBerry Developer’s Blog going step by step on how to create a YouTube viewer using the BlackBerry 6 API. It’s definitely nice to see RIM doing more tutorials for developers now, which encourages further enhancement in application development in the future (obviously). I think they should continue doing this more frequent, so this way we can see developers get a better hands on with app development and implement more in their apps.
