I’ve seen Paris Hilton with the BlackBerry Bold 9000, Bold 9700, and even the Torch.  Why oh why does she have a BlackBerry Curve 3G now? It could be the Curve 3G or the older 8500 series, not so sure.  I know it’s one or the other since we only see the camera in the back with no flash, and we notice the little gap for the speaker in the center top right underneath the play/pause button located on the top of the Curve.

Since the BlackBerry Style 9670 launched, I was wondering how its OtterBox would look on it.  I saw it in the past for the Pearl Flip 8200 series, and was pretty impressed by it.  OtterBox let us know that they have recently released the Commuter Series for the BlackBerry Style 9670 – how exciting!

The Style is a bit thick on its own, so adding some extra layer to it will make it bigger, so that’s something you need to consider.  The Commuter series is the middle grade series that OtterBox offers in between the high end Defender and lower and Impact.  It goes for $34.95 right from the OtterBox website.

BerrySlider is today’s application Deal of the Day giving you the “slide to unlock” feature like the iPhone.  Usually it’s $2.99 to purchase but as a special one day sale, it’s only $1.49, saving you 50% instantly.  BerrySlider works for both touchscreen devices and non-touchscreen devices so you don’t have to worry about compatibility.  Features include:

  • Fast / Smooth Locking App
  • Works with default lock button
  • Simple to use / setup
  • Landscape & Portrait Mode
  • Secure, using a 4 digit password (you can enable / disable this)
  • Activate on phone call (no more pressing buttons with your cheeks)
  • Activate on screen timeout
  • Activate on phone startup
  • Tons of Customizable Options

So definitely check it out if you want in on some slide action.  On a side note, I wonder if we’ll see BerrySlider come to the BlackBerry PlayBook as a lockscreen option and not just focused on BlackBerry smartphones.  We’ll see!

I’m not so sure how long this one has been out for, but I just noticed its availability on Bplay.  I’ve been playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit on my iPad for a little over a month now, and am happy to see it extend to the BlackBerry.  Of course the graphics are not as good on the BlackBerry, so don’t expect the same experience.  Here’s the stock description of the game from Bplay:

Feel the rush of the escape or the thrill of the takedown! Outrun the law or stop racers cold in adrenaline-fueled Racer vs. Cop showdowns!  For the first time, play a full career as a Racer or a Cop. Outrun the law in supercars like the Pagani Zonda Cinque — or stop racers cold in high-speed police interceptors like the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder! Drive up to 8 high-performance cars in adrenaline-fueled showdowns across 24 day-and-night tracks!

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is $4.99 to purchase over at Bplay.  Click the link below to purchase or to check out more screenshots of the game.

So I was looking through the PocketBerry Store and I came across an app called Tweeker by Motek.  Motek is well known for a bunch of other apps including Code Muncher, Screen Muncher, and Color ID. Tweeker is built to be the quickest way to tweet; and it does what it says. After inserting your user name and password, you’ll be able to tweet as soon as the app launches. You don’t see time lines and replies, and have to press buttons to update your status. The best part is i set it as one of my convenience key and it makes it even faster to tweet.

Data is something we’ve been hearing a lot about over the last 18 months or so. It’s the ‘next frontier’ with all wireless providers. The reason for that is because almost 97% of all Americans (and its probably close to the same percentage in other countries all have cell phones.) Voice plans is so saturated that there really isn’t any money to be made except for data.
