This is a bit on the enterprise side of things, but great news for RIM and small to medium business users.  Today RIM officially releases MDaemon Messaging Server BlackBerry Edition.  What makes it a “BlackBerry Edition” is the fact that you can have all of your MDaemon services all in one with the ability to have wireless BlackBerry synchronization, IT policy management, and security.

The best part about it is how easy it’s installed.  It takes about thirty minutes to install in one installation wizard for both the server and BlackBerry smartphones.  As far as support goes, MDaemon Messaging Server BlackBerry Edition covers Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP.  So platforms supported are wide compatible as there are many small businesses out there still on XP or up to date with Windows 7.  Hit the jump for more features and how to sign up.

Features include:

  • Email instantly pushed to the user’s BlackBerry smartphone via BlackBerry push technology
  • Wirelessly synchronized calendar, contacts, email folders and personal distribution lists between the MDaemon messaging server and BlackBerry smartphones
  • Flag an email for follow-up from a BlackBerry smartphone
  • Send and respond to meeting invitations from a BlackBerry smartphone
  • Look up a colleague’s calendar availability from a BlackBerry smartphone
  • Edit attachments using Documents To Go® on a BlackBerry smartphone
  • Search for emails on the MDaemon Messaging Server from a BlackBerry smartphone
  • IT policy management and controls for BlackBerry smartphones; designed for small-to-mid-sized business environments
  • Remote lock or wipe of a BlackBerry smartphone’s content in the event that the device is lost or stolen
  • Integrated MDaemon Instant Messaging for complete and flexible inter-office communications
  • Encrypted data transmission between BlackBerry smartphones and the messaging server using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple DES)

So the biggest thing about MDaemon is that maintenance is really low overall, gives full BlackBerry control where you can wipe and lock devices, and push out calendar items and contacts.  You can read more about MDaemon Messaging Server BlackBerry Edition here.  They even have a 30 day trial you can check out.
