Wow.  Who remembers BlackBerry Wallet?  Just when I thought RIM did away with this application as it hasn’t had anything happen in two years, they go ahead and put out a version 2.0 update for it.  BlackBerry Wallet allows you to safely store addresses, login credentials, credit cards, gift cards, loyalty cards, and more.

You can download BlackBerry Wallet from App World or head over to blackberry.com/wallet

I guess we can call it a game, but the description at App World calls it the Japanese Job Interview IQ Test, that only 10% of the people on the planet can pass.  I look at it as a riddle you need to solve, just virtually.  So to keep it simple, there’s a bunch of people on side of a river and a raft to carry two people at a time.  There are rules for each person (read in the help menu), letting you know which characters need each other around and what characters can’t be alone with others, etc.  It’s fun and no, I have not solved this one yet.  If any of you do, we definitely want to hear how you did it.

Here’s another leak that popped up last night a few moments after the Bold 9700 took the spotlight for the same OS version.  The BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 is pretty much in the same league as the Bold 9700 when it comes OS leaks.  So as the Bold gets its OS fix, so does the Curve 3G.  Here’s OS 6.0.0.499 for the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300.

We got the word early this morning from Toshl on their new app called Mobile Expense Tracker.  Surely there are plenty of expense apps out there but Toshl provides one here with a really user friendly user interface and adds on some nice features.  With Mobile Expense Tracker, you’ll have all your data syncing on a cloud, so if you ever lose your BlackBerry, you’ll always get your expense reports back.  Syncing between multiple devices is an option as well if you carry around more than one device.

So this year at Pwn2Own 2011, it looks like the BlackBerry Torch 9800′s webkit browser has been hacked by three guys – Vincenzo Iozzo, Willem Pinckaers and Ralf Philipp Weinmann.  So yes the webkit browser was hacked, and what did they get out of that? The three were able to steal the contact list and image data base of the device.  Iozzo and Weinmann won last year’s award by hacking the iPhone, so I guess the BlackBerry was next on the list.

Is RIM going to release and update to fix this?

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 follows right behind the Torch today as far as leaks go.  This is OS 6.0.0.499 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, the highest version OS leak we’ve seen yet.  I hope we get some more .499′s for other devices as well, but I guess the Bold 9700 deserves it with all the memory leaks its been having with 6.0.  Here’s a few download links to grab a copy from:

The BlackBerry Torch 9800 has been frustrating me with some of the OS leaks lately.  I recall installing 6.0.0.449 at one point, then a day later seeing 6.0.0.450.  The .449 update gave me bad, bad battery life and had to switch out immediately.  I’m not one who continuously like to update OS versions just because it takes so long to do and re-register third party apps, permissions, and all that other nonsense.  So here’s OS 6.0.0.486 which I am hoping is a solid OS leak for now (.487 better not come tomorrow).

Ok so now we need a launch date! The folks over at Engadget spotted that the BlackBerry PlayBook just got approved by FCC for the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.  There’s nothing ground breaking here as it appears to just be the WiFi models which we’d be more than happy to see hit shelves soon.  Sprint will be on its way with the 4G version sometime in June.  In the meantime, RIM please announce a launch date!

Rather than spending 50 bucks on the app, you can save 50% today and get it for only $24.99.  I’m surprised we didn’t see this earlier today, but here it is.  Tether for BlackBerry lets you tether your BlackBerry’s internet connection to your computer without facing extra charges from your carrier.  There’s no word on how long this sale is, but it’s safe to assume it won’t be up for long.
