Since this morning’s official announcements on the BlackBerry PlayBook launch, we saw that Best Buy and Future Shop Canada had pre-orders going up, as RIM did mention them.  We received numerous tips about Staples having a pre-order page for the BlackBerry PlayBook as well, which doesn’t seem too surprising considering we saw so much leakage from the company.

There’s no change log on this one, but Adam over at CrackBerry spotted a new update available for the app.  I guess it’s still too early to see major changes done with BlackBerry Travel, considering it launched not too long ago.  Expected in this build is bug fixes and maybe “better performance.”  As usual, let us know if you spot any differences in this build.

Rogers put up a quick BlackBerry PlayBook demo today, which seems to go hand in hand with the launch date RIM announced today.  Nothing new here, just a quick hardware and software overview of the PlayBook.  We’re just thrilled that RIM finally announced a launch date, although it is a bit late after the XOOM and iPad 2, but I’ve been patient to wait for it still.

I didn’t think Google was ever going to get carrier involved when it came to Google Voice, so I have to say I’m impressed.  Sprint and Google have partnered up to bring Google Voice integration for customers with Sprint phones.  So basically Sprint users will be able to have all Google Voice features without having to port their numbers, or use their current phone numbers assigned to Google Voice.  Hit the jump for a video demo.

Opera Mini was always a nice mobile browser in my opinion.  Some things that bothered me about it was that it made itself default as soon as you installed it and it wasn’t so touchscreen friendly although they released a version that claimed itself to be at one point.  Ronen at BerryReview spotted that Opera Mini 6 is now available and put up a full change log with what new features are in this version.

Sometimes there’s a need to have multiple content saved to copy and paste when doing some heavy duty work on your BlackBerry.  MultiCopyPaste is the solution for that. Using the application utility is quite simple.  Anytime you want to copy/paste, just select the MultiCopyPaste option instead of the standard “Copy” or “Paste.”

There’s plenty of free and premium screenshot applications out there available, and here’s another one that’s been added to the list.  Surely they all perform the same task of taking a screenshot of your current BlackBerry screen, but this one has a nice option menu you might be fond of.  Features of vScreenshot include:

When I read on Twitter yesterday about T-Mobile getting acquired by AT&T, all I could think about at first was UMA.  The companies are to remain separate for now, and we won’t see the two merging for another 12 months at least.  What I’m really wondering is what AT&T will take on or scrap that T-Mobile offers.  I would personally love to have UMA on my BlackBerry now, but unfortunately it’s only supported for T-Mobile.  I’m hoping AT&T is going to embrace not only the customers, but the technology as well which would probably keep me on the carrier, rather than the current mindset I have which is pushing me to leave.

What do you want out of the AT&T and T-Mobile merge?
