It’s been quiet for the BlackBerry Bold 9650 lately, but it looks like a new leak is in town now. This one’s 6.0.0.524, hopefully addressing some of the bugs out there now and making the battery life better (yes, I’ve seen a huge decline in battery life with 6.0). Keep in mind, this is leaked so download and install at your own risk! Hit the jump for a bunch of mirror images to download the leaked OS from.

I’m always a fan of these small free applications. This one’s called FaceFont. The application’s objective is quite simple and straight forward – it allows you to change your Facebook for BlackBerry application fonts. Features include:
- Change font style, type and size with just a click
- Integration with native apps (Calendar, Contacts, etc.)
- Integration with all third-party apps
- Manage fonts
- Preview fonts
As mentioned before, it is a free application. I’m not sure if it works with the new Facebook 2.0, but if any of you decide to download it, let us know!
Thanks John for sending this in!

This isn’t huge news, as this 6.0.0.448 has become really popular when it comes to official BlackBerry 6 builds. I personally don’t like it, but I am aware that there’s a crowd out there who only sticks to official releases. I noticed on my BlackBerry Bold 9780 that OS 6.0.0.448 was officially available to download. I’m not claiming this just released, but it had to be recent enough as the wireless update got pushed my way.
So check out Wireless Update in your options menu, or click the link below to download directly from T-Mobile USA.

Everyone’s jaws dropped yesterday when AT&T announced their pending acquisition of T-Mobile. It came out of the blue and a lot really weren’t expecting to see that happen. So there’s a lot speculation, rumors, and way too much talk on the web discussing ifs, buts, and possibilities of AT&T’s future with T-Mobile. Luis over at BerryReview spotted that T-Mobile had up a nice Q&A, hopefully addressing most of your questions and concerns.

As you all know, BlackBerry Protect launched in open beta for the US and Canada at first, but the EMEA launch stayed postponed until this weekend, as we had expected from the leaked roadmap we had about a month ago. So for all you in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa, feel free to get your Protect fix by downloading free in App World’s Test Center.

BlackBerry App World got an update late last night to version 2.1.1.2, and as you guessed it – there’s no change log. The update hasn’t fully pushed out to everyone yet apparently, and I personally haven’t received it yet either, so let’s remain patient.
Feel free to keep refreshing App World in best hopes the update will come up, but I’m sure as always it’ll just pop up when you least expect it.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 doesn’t seem to be featured that often in BlackBerry commercials. What seem to be seeing the most of is the BlackBerry Torch 9800. So here we get to see how a choirmaster uses the Bold 9650 for getting musical notes and enjoying the emailing and BBM features as well. Hit the jump for the full clip.

So the original rumor was that the US would get the BlackBerry PlayBook early on in March, and UK along with Europe would go ahead with it in April or later. As you can see, it doesn’t look like the PlayBook is hitting the streets in the US this month, and so we’re leaned more towards a April launch (estimated to be the 10th now). Three UK had their roadmap leaked, and in there we see a WiFi only BlackBerry PlayBook coming in June.
I’m curious to see the tactics as to how the WiFi PlayBook will sell in carrier stores. I picture it being: “oh you have have a BlackBerry? The PlayBook is a great companion.”
