The BlackBerry Bold Touch made its way to the BlackBerry main site today by accident.  Who knows how that happened, but the folks over at CrackBerry got a screenshot of it displayed.  We’re days away from BlackBerry World and we’re excited to see RIM officially announce the device.  In best hopes we get a real hands on with it, rather than at DEVCON 2010 where we only drooled at a PlayBook behind glass.

Back at DEVCON 2010, we were introduced to the BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform.  Then way later, RIM officially launched the BlackBerry Messenger Social Platform, giving developers the opportunity to integrate BBM into their applications.  BlackBerry Messenger 6 made its way out into open beta in BlackBerry Beta Zone a few days ago, which including the BBM Social Platform capability.  Telmap appears to be the first to integrate BBM into its application.  It’s not a crazy application here, as it’s more of mapping and tracking where your buddies are.  The possibilities are above and beyond with the BBM Social Platform as we’ll see games and apps like Kobo eBook reader get in on BBM integration as well.

Last week I went on a little rant on how BlackBerry Bridge has not worked for me at all up until now.  Things were a little too quiet as we never saw any fixes brought forward from RIM, not even an update for the PlayBook or BlackBerry Bridge application to solve it.  It appears that they have finally come out of the closet addressing the issue and at last acknowledging it does exist.  Along with that is a fix method that may or may not work for those having trouble connecting BlackBerry Bridge.  Continue reading to check it out the steps.

It looks like a menu option titled “Smart Accessories” has appeared in OS 7.  We don’t know what it is exactly, but it reads “manage what happens when you connect accessories.” This menu seems to be too much of a mystery so far, but there’s a few ways of looking at it.

One idea is that there are some sort of NFC enabled accessories coming from RIM in the future, since most of 2011′s BlackBerry smartphones will be equipped with it.  The other idea is that this is simply for BlackBerry accessories where you can control how your device reacts to them when connected (Bluetooth devices maybe).

We saw a glimpse of the BlackBerry Digital Compass in one of the first leaked screenshots of the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900.  Even then we really couldn’t see what was going on with the application or how it worked exactly.  Now in these leaked screenshots, we see Digital Compass up close and personal.

BlackBerry Desktop Software recently updated with PlayBook compatibility, and now it received a small update to v6.0.2.44 but no change log attached.  We assume it’s something to do with PlayBook connectivity, but nothing shown so far proves it.  Maybe it’ll tie in with a state of the art PlayBook OS update announced at BlackBerry World! Now I’m hoping for too much.  Any way, this update is for PC users only, as Mac OS users still have no PlayBook support but will sometime this summer.
