Hulu works on the BlackBerry PlayBook browser, No Neflix love yet
by Mac Jadalhack
Throughout the last couple times of testing out the BlackBerry PlayBook at promo events, I wondered if Hulu would work on the native web browser, but would always forget to try when being distracted by the tablet’s other great features. Since I now have a PlayBook to mess with and review, I took the opportunity to see if Hulu works, and it does! Full screen and window mode work beautifully, without any lag going in between the two.
I asked some PR folks at the PlayBook launch party tonight about Netflix coming to the PlayBook, and they suggested that the feature is coming soon. I’m guessing there will be an application for it of some sort. As you know, Netflix natively runs on Microsoft Silverlight, which leaves the PlayBook out of the game since it supports Adobe Flash and HTML 5.
As far as Hulu goes, I’m hoping they don’t block it eventually and keep it live. We know Hulu is famous for blocking their services on mobile, so it would be a damn shame if we saw them go at it with the BlackBerry PlayBook.
