Jim Balsillie says PlayBook will get native email within 60 days
by Mac Jadalhack
As the BlackBerry PlayBook makes it way close to launch, many are skeptical about features it lacks, which includes having a native email client that does not require BlackBerry Bridge. That has been cleared out sort of after an interview spotted this weekend. In an interview with WSJ, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie talks BlackBerry PlayBook and explains that they will have a “standalone, non-web, non-paired email client” in the next 60 days.
With that said, we assume other applications will come as well including contacts, memos, and calendar. It’s not exactly the answer we wanted to hear, but it’s nice to know that a native email client is coming eventually. In the meantime, we’re waiting for Bridge to officially launch so we can finally experience features like email.
By the way, in case you were wondering (fr0m left to right) it’s me, RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie, and Kal Chebli in the photo above.
