ScoreMobile is a very popular application for BlackBerry smartphones which allows you to keep up with the latest sports scores and news for many different leagues.  While browsing through BlackBerry App World on PlayBook, I noticed ScoreMobile Tablet is now available.  Haven’t played around with it thoroughly yet but it looks good so far.  It would be nice seeing some smartphone to PlayBook communication (like Poynt) in ScoreMobile Tablet as well.  Hit the link below to download free.

There’s no story or anything to go along with the photo, but it looks like it was tweeted out and shouted to be from the streets of Toronto.  On the left is the BlackBerry 9850 which name is getting way too confusing (Touch/Torch?).   Then there’s the BlackBerry Bold 9900, which seems to be the favored device by the crowd, and we already had our hands on with it as well. The Bold 9900 gets a launch as early as September while the 9850 remains to be unannounced by RIM up until now.

There’s no guarantee that any of this is real, but the folks over at BGR say they have received this as a tip, which has is allegedly “verified.”  We already know that it’s not a good time for RIM, and with that said an anonymous employee has written an open letter to the two co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie giving them a piece of his/her mind on what’s going on and how things could go better.  There’s a lot of good stuff here including suggestions on how BlackBerry OS should be and the future of QNX.  Here’s the full letter:

To the RIM Senior Management Team:

I have lost confidence.

While I hide it at work, my passion has been sapped. I know I am not alone — the sentiment is widespread and it includes people within your own teams.

Mike and Jim, please take the time to really absorb and digest the content of this letter because it reflects the feeling across a huge percentage of your employee base. You have many smart employees, many that have great ideas for the future, but unfortunately the culture at RIM does not allow us to speak openly without having to worry about the career-limiting effects.

Before I get into the meat of the matter, I will say I am not part of a large group of bitter employees wishing to embarrass us. Rather, I believe these points need to be heard and I desperately want RIM to regain its position as a successful industry leader. Our carriers, distributors, alliance partners, enterprise customers, and our loyal end users all want the same thing… for BlackBerry to once again be leading the pack.

Two weeks ago we had the same OS leak out, and I guess it was stable enough to go on the air and make it official.  Vodafone DE seems to be the first who has picked this one up.  So if you were worried about installing it before, maybe seeing it official this time around will build you some confidence.  Two download links below for both the BlackBerry Curve 9300 and BlackBerry Torch 9800.

There’s quite a few apps out there for keeping contacts secret in your BlackBerry, one famous one called BlackBook.  But you can technically keep some contacts secret natively with no need for any third party apps.  As you know they’re speed dials you can set right on your BlackBerry and that’s how it’s done.  The folks over at BBGeeks put together a great tutorial on how to get it done:
