Reddvin: A free Reddit app for BlackBerry PlayBook

Reddvin is a third party application for the playbook designed to integrate with reddit.com as a reader. This is an application redditors are going to love for the playbook. Reddvin allows users to browse reddit without opening up the browser. Reddvin has been built with the same core user interface redditors have come to love; the simplistic look. As redditors know, reddit.com hasn’t changed it page layout in years and for this reddvin has kept the flow similar.
Its a basic application but has a few key features such as choosing a subreddit and allowing users to login to upvote/downvote. The application also allows you to refresh the stream without having to close out and reopen. As far as links that have pictures, there is a good sized thumbnail that appears on the right side of the thread. It doesn’t seem to have embeded video youtube video style that’s we can pop out as seen on reddit.com but you can stream videos within the app without having to open the browser.

Reading comments on threads thru the app is great and conveniently sized. Another user interface improvement we’ve noticed it the more accurate screen tapping then the current formatting of reddit.com on the playbook browser. One thing that seems missing is landscape/portrait rotation which could be convenient. I’m sure we’ll see more to come in future builds as well as input from user feedback.
