WordRival for BlackBerry just a got a small update to v1.4.0, but the nice thing about it is that it now includes push notifications. For those who haven’t heard of WordRival, it’s a cross platform game (supported on Android as well to be exact) just like Scrabble, more or so like Words With Friends. The game Words With Friends always had push notifications so you could be notified as soon as it was your move, even if the app was closed. Now WordRival brings that same feature.
If you don’t have WordRival yet, you can grab a copy at the PocketBerry Store for only $4.99

It sounds really silly but the game is actually fun and addictive. Omnombot is brought to you by the same makers of Aqualux, another quality game for the PlayBook. The game concept is pretty simple. You have to strive to get the highest score possible by making your robot does not eat any vegetables and eats only meat. To play is easy. You just press anywhere on the screen to open the robots mouth as food gets launched to him. To keep his mouth closed, you simply release the screen hold.
Omnombot is fun and indeed addictive as you attempt to get the highest score possible. It’s $1.99 to buy at BlackBerry App World.

Avatars are all over the place – Twitter, Facebook and even BBM. Over the last few months it has become quite trendy to make yourself in 8bit and set it as your avatar on your online social networks. RIM has launched BlackBerry Avatar Builder free in two flavors – one for guys and other for girls. You can customize an avatar of yourself and set it as your BBM default or do whatever you want with it. There’s lots of cool customizations to it and best part is it’s free to download.

Charging your BlackBerry PlayBook is obviously an essential duty in being an owner. If you’re using your PlayBook everyday and carry it around bridging then I’m sure you’re charging it every day or every other day. There’s been some confusions since launch about charging the PlayBook and what’s good to charge with and what isn’t so I found a good article at Inside BlackBerry that covered some nice facts on charging. Here’s a few:
- When you plug your BlackBerry tablet in to charge up from being drained, it will turn on automatically once the battery is fully charged
- When it isn’t fully charged and kept off, the light on your PlayBook will appear yellow
- Whether your PlayBook is on and operating or off while on charger, it will continue charging as long as it’s plugged in.
- Your BlackBerry PlayBook IS NOT compatible with your BlackBerry smartphone charger

- When your PlayBook power is drained, it may need to charge for a little while before using it again.

BlackBerry World 2011 was full of many surprises and great times interacting with all sorts of BlackBerry users from around the world. RIM put out a video showing highlights from the event. Some memorable moments included when RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis announced on stage that we would all be getting free 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook tablets – always nice to hear. I think they should of added in the clip that Angry Birds is coming to the PlayBook as well since it is breaking news for some game hungry BlackBerry users.
