So earlier last night BlackBerry Bridge got updated to version 1.0.0.93. Makes sense I guess when we have an OS update just launching as well. This update is expected to pep up Bridge in general giving it a faster and better connection between your BlackBerry smartphone and BlackBerry PlayBook. I’m hoping to see Bridge Browser improved! Any way you can grab the update from App World. Those with AT&T (or even other carriers) can just download using the links below.

It looks like RIM put out an update for the BlackBerry PlayBook at a very random time of the day. This update is OS 1.0.5.2304, which includes the following changes:
- Facebook for BlackBerry PlayBook – The first Facebook app optimized for tablets now comes preloaded and introduces new features including video uploading, message deletion, Facebook search enhancements and more
- In-App Payments Support – Enables developers to create apps for the BlackBerry PlayBook using the BlackBerry Payment Service, which will allow users to purchase enhancements within apps such as another level in a game or a new edition of a magazine
- Additional Language Support — Updates language support to include: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Dutch and UK English
- BlackBerry PlayBook Charging Enhancements – By simply touching the battery indicator on the BlackBerry PlayBook home screen, users can easily adjust the screen brightness or choose to restart, turn off, or put the tablet into standby mode. Other charging improvements include the ability to charge the PlayBook while it is turned off, as well as an on-screen alert to notify users if they accidentally have plugged in an incorrect charger into their BlackBerry PlayBook
- Video Chat Connectivity – Adds support for the TURN (Traversal Using Relay NAT) protocol, which enhances Video Chat connections between users on home, public and enterprise Wi-Fi networks
- Wi-Fi Hotspot Detection – Automatic Wi-Fi hotspot detection in the BlackBerry Tablet OS v1.0.5 makes it easier to connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot (at a coffee shop or an airport, for example)
To download, head over to Software Updates in options, and check to see for available updates. Some may not see it right away but it is currently being pushed out now as we speak.

Today Apple had their big announcements including iOS 5, which has a new service called iMessage. iMessage is used as a universal messenger for iPhones and iPads to all talk to one another. Sound familiar? BlackBerry Messenger is RIM’s most popular feature in the BlackBerry smartphone so Apple has taken on the same tactic in catering to iPhone users as well.
Like BBM, iMessage has delivery and read receipts and allows users to send messages, photos, videos, locations, and contacts. So what do you make out of Apple’s new feature? Does iMessage make you lean more towards the iPhone or do you remain loyal to BlackBerry?

I don’t see a reason why a physical coin can’t be flipped to make a decision, but I guess there are times where a coin is very much out of reach. Flip Coin for BlackBerry makes the decision for you and will flip heads or tails right on your BlackBerry screen. There’s nothing crazy to the app and that is all it does. It’s free to download at the PocketBerry Store.
Themes »

We always see themes every now and then that go further than icon revamps and different wallpapers. Vintage is one of those. Your home screen while Vintage is activated looks just like the screenshot above. All the apps you need are spread out, some larger than others and you can scroll right to them to open up.
Features:
- Sliding Info Dock
- Every Graphic Home Screen Element is an Icon
- Custom Graphics
Vintage is currently only $2.99 at the PocketBerry Store, where it’s usually $4.99. Catch the sale today and grab a copy.

The time has finally come for the Sprint BlackBerry PlayBook – not 4G as we’ve been expecting to see this month, but the WiFi edition instead. The BlackBerry PlayBook first launched in April at major retail stores, but it wasn’t too common to be seeing it at carrier stores. Prices start at $499 for the 16GB, $599 for the 32GB, and $699 for the 64GB as they are everywhere else. We’re not sure where the 4G BlackBerry PlayBook stands now as Sprint just got the WiFi model but we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for that.
You can grab a PlayBook from Sprint online through their website or in retail stores according to the press release. However on the site it says “This device requires special ordering – see below.” So it looks like online purchases are available as of now but may change later on.

The other day I stumbled across an app called LoudTalks a push to talk service, that supports Windows devices as well; however, LoudTalks just opened up there services to BlackBerry users and they are currently beta testing. I’m sure many of you received the chain BBM messages for this one.
I’ve been using the app for a couple days now and so far so good. It’s push to talk and I’ve been able to communicate with people everywhere. You create a user name and set a PTT key. I use my mute button as my PTT key. You can adjust volume, and if the audio is played through the speaker or through the headset.

The BlackBerry Torch 2 got another hands on video and image gallery, this time from Engadget. In the photos below and video, you’ll get a better look at the device in all its dimensions and see it in action. It seems like a very promising device and definitely what many have been waiting for. From the look of the video, the OS moves quite rapid and no hour glassing action occurred either! Hit the jump for the full image gallery.
