BlackBerry 6 OS can be frustrating for some with the multiple pans. This isn’t the first time we see classic style themes, but for some of you out there still out of the loop with them, here’s another. Retro by BerryGoodThemes brings you OS 5 style menus and feel to your OS 6 device. As you can see above, the layout looks as it would on the Storm. That’s how it would look for the Torch of course, and it would look standard as you know it on QWERTY devices. Features include:
- Old school os5 style theme
- Fully replicated os5 theme
- Os5 icon set
- Os5 stylings and elements throughout
- Theme removes the sliding panel designs
- Calendar icon does change and does show the date
- Torch version has no landscape mode – just like the Storm
Retro is only 99 cents to buy at the PocketBerry Store. Click the link below for more info or to purchase.

Ever buy an unlocked BlackBerry and realize some third party apps that require internet connection don’t work? A big reason why they don’t work is because it’s most likely that your APN/TCP settings are incorrect. For example, if you buy an unlocked T-Mobile BlackBerry and use your AT&T sim card, you’ll need to change up those settings, as they’re defaulted for T-Mobile. I recently went through the same and figured it would be good to share some APN/TCP settings for both AT&T and T-Mobile (even though they will be merged soon enough).

Remember a couple years when apps were really taking off, and every platform had at least 10 fart applications? Well it looks like the humor in farting, passing gas, or tooting has made it’s way to the BlackBerry PlayBook.
Welcome Who Fart for BlackBerry PlayBook to the market. The app is very simple and easy. Select a fart and set the timer. That’s it! And with the way the economy is, it’s only 99 cents to buy – very reasonable for hours of fartin’ fun. Check it out on your BlackBerry PlayBook at App World.

Twitter for BlackBerry v2.0 was originally introduced to us at BlackBerry World 2011, and then later went official shortly after. A big complaint was the dark and dull color to the application, but it looks like a new update available today fixes that. Here’s the full change log:
- Color Refresh – featuring a lighter color scheme
- Compose a Tweet – the Tweet composer is “hidden” from the Home timeline but accessible from the new Compose
- Tweet bar located below the navigation bar
- Trending Topics with local trends support – a Trending Topics icon has been added to the nav bar and now includes local trends support
- My Profile – Now users can access their profile quickly and easily from the nav bar (or the Menu)
- Performance Enhancements to improve the overall usability of the app

I am a nerd and when a buddy of mine told me about Math Clock for my BlackBerry PlayBook I was sold. Math Clock is exactly what it says it is. A clock that involves math. Math Clock has mathematical equations to solve for the hour and for minutes. Don’t worry it’s nothing to serious, its basic math (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication). With Math Clock you can switch between 12hr/24hr. Now if you’re really nerdy switch it to the byte clock, and show off. So if you are just that smart, want to challenge yourself, or show off in front of your friends, check out Math Clock in AppWorld for free.

It looks like BlackBerry WebWorks SDK for BlackBerry Tablet OS just got updated and released by RIM. In this update we see additions such as the in app payment API, camera API, and much more. The possibilities? A lot more now. The camera API being out and open alone calls for more video chatting apps, hopefully some cross platform ones so we can utilize the built in cameras more. Hit the jump for the full change log or click here to grab the new SDK.

It was exciting enough to see Blaq launch officially for the BlackBerry PlayBook, since we were so dry with the lack of Twitter support on the tablet. Now we’re seeing more and more come to App World so with that said, a new app called BlackBird has surfaced. BlackBird is another premium Twitter client for the PlayBook but its nicest feature is the support of multiple Twitter accounts. I haven’t given it a try yet but I am very happy with Blaq as of now. It’s $1.99 to buy in App World for PlayBook so check it out!
