The same tipster sent over this screenshot as well coming frm the CelleBrite System.  Here we see the BlackBerry Torch 2 9810 under the GSM BlackBerry section.  We were a bit disappointed not to see the BlackBerry Bold 9900, especially since T-Mobile said they’d be carrying the device sometime in August.   The last rumor we heard was that the T-Mobile Bold 9900 will launch August 25-31.  So it’s only the Torch 2 9810 for now in the system but I’m sure the rest of the devices will make way including the Torch 9860.

It’s no secret that the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 are due to come out soon.  The exact dates are a bit blurry now with only the Bold 9900/9930 announced for release dates as soon as August but the Torch 9850 with not even an official announcement from RIM.  A tipster sent this one in showing that the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and Torch 9850 are in the CelleBrite system under CDMA BlackBerry devices so hopefully something comes up throughout August.

Backgammon King for BlackBerry by Magmic Games just went social with BBM 6 integration.  We’ve already been more than satisfied with what Magmic has done with Texas Hold’em King Live where we get to play against other players live.  They’ve started off with Backgammon King, but I’m sure it’s a matter of time until we see THKL go live with it as well.

Any way, Backgammon King is your average backgammon game which has been on BlackBerry for some time now and with the new BBM integration you’ll be able to invite your friends via BBM to play with you.  Single mode is still available of course.

Bowling at Doodle Lanes is definitely my next favored game for the BlackBerry PlayBook.  It reminds me a bit of DoodleBlast which is all drawn out to look like it’s out of a notebook since Bowling at Doodle Lanes is sort of the same style.  It’s a basic bowling game giving you the top aerial view to launch your bowling ball at some pins.  You can have up to four players, or just shoot around on your own.  Either way it’s tons of a fun, and definitely unlike any other bowling game you’ve played.  Features include:

Today, most highly functional smart phone apps use some form of geolocation to help you find just about anything you need from the street you are looking for to the restaurant you keep hearing about. A smart phone trend that has been growing in popularity is “checking in” which uses geolocation to allow individuals to show when they have shown up at restaurants, bars, or stores.

Nearly all smart phones today, including your Blackberry, has a GPS chip inside. This little chip is what makes these phones so useful when wanting directions or wanting to know your exact location in relation to something. However, GPS doesn’t always work right, and when GPS fails, geolocation kicks in making it possible for you to get your location on a whim.

This is pretty much open ended to all BlackBerry Messenger 6 users just to see what apps are in mind when it comes to the new Social Platform we have integrated now.  We have quite a few games and applications which integrate nicely with BBM 6 so far, but of course there can always be more and more possibilities.  There’s a bunch of music apps out there including Pandora, Slacker Radio, and Nobex which could be nicely integrated.  Might be frustrating having it change up for each track you listen to but perhaps it can show you’re currently listening through that app or show the station name.  Share your ideas with us on what you want to see come to life with BBM 6 integration.

Pandas vs Ninjas, the next Angry Birds knock off game for BlackBerry just updated to version 1.11 last night.  In the very first v1.0 revision, it seemed a bit buggy, but the game has actually gotten better with the last two updates so far.  It’s not entirely there like Angry Birds, but the game seems to be more fluid.  So if you haven’t downloaded the update feel free to do so.  Otherwise you can purchase a copy from App World.

RIM officially launched BlackBerry Messenger 6 yesterday.  The biggest feature of BBM 6 is the Social Platform which allows it to integrate with third party applications.  So far various games and applications are compatible including Foursquare, ScoreMobile, and games like Battles (Battleship style gameplay).  RIM just put up a new promo video for BBM 6 showing off what it can do and new features included.

UPDATE: Demo mode is already on the BlackBerry PlayBook.  In the future OS update, limited functions will be in place in prevention from users password protecting the device or playing around with the settings.  Also an option to have it reset back to its original state each day will be included.  Sorry for confusion folks but that’s what a RIM employee passed on!

Last night I got to see a BlackBerry PlayBook from a RIM employee which had an OS build later than what we have (couldn’t see the exact version).  It was a bit buggy in the sense that freezage would occur when multiple apps would be open, but I’m sure that’s only due to it being an internal beta build.  An interesting feature the employee showed me was Demo Mode which could be enabled through options.

Maintenance is maintenance and it doesn’t matter what type of technological device it is, it will require maintenance. Everyone has to run a virus scan or get a checkup for their computer, and your Blackberry is no different. Blackberries are, after all, nothing more than a mini-computer that keeps scores of information and organizes your life, but it needs a tune up like anything else.

Checking For Updates:

You need to be doing this regularly. Updates aren’t just a suggestion. Spammers and malicious software is constantly making its way on the web and people’s phones. You should be checking for updates frequently so you don’t put your information at risk. We do everything from important/personal data storage to an AnyWho lookup. Consider getting blackberry updates kind of like getting a checkup at the doctor.
