For those who don’t know, 7Digital Music Store is the native music store application on the BlackBerry PlayBook and is offered on BlackBerry smartphones as a Super App.  Here’s a quick list of reasons I put together as to why you should use 7Digital Music Store.  If you’re stuck on torrents and don’t believe in purchasing music at all, then you may not be enlightened by any of this.

Keep your music all in one database.

When you purchase on song your BlackBerry smartphone, you can head to the 7Digital Music Store on your BlackBerry PlayBook or PC/Mac and download it without having to sync to computer or anything.  Simply browse the song just purchased and download!  Works the other way around too.

Shazam a song and download it right away.

A cool feature with 7Digital Music Store is that it links with Shazam.  When you Shazam a song on the radio or in a club, Shazam will give you the results along with a link to purchase the song from the 7Digital Music Store.

Download music using 3G or EDGE, then get the higher quality version when connected to WiFi.

Most would think that you need a WiFi connection to download music on your BlackBerry smartphone, but you don’t.  If you’re on 3G or EDGE, 7Digital will download a lower quality version of the MP3 you purchased and then have a higher quality version available when WiFi is available.  The lower quality still sounds great on most sound systems and headphones.

Save money when purchasing albums.

Music always goes on sale.  Yes, some music seems to be over 99 cents which is frustrating but there’s always specials for tracks cheaper when the album is purchased, or sometimes they’re as low as 77 cents for each track.

You’ll always have your music, even when you lose your BlackBerry smartphone or PlayBook.

Let’s face it.  Downloading music through P2P apps and torrents isn’t legal.  It’s a better peace of mind when you get it the right way.  Whether you format your computer or lose your BlackBerry, you’ll have your music on account ready to download at anytime.
