Who remembers the Ticketmaster application for BlackBerry? It’s been long forgotten, and some users don’t even know there was one to begin with.  Now RIM has updated it to version 2.0 in BlackBerry Beta Zone, and is limited in users who can download it (according to RIM).  I have spotted it in Beta Zone, so hopefully they meant it was just a regional limited rather than user.  Features include:

  • Add events to calendar
  • Set favorite artists and eventsLeverages geo functions to connect users to events in their area

Pick it up free today in BlackBerry Beta Zone!

Anyone who lived through the 90s as a parent or child should remember a popular game called Lights Out, where the goal was turn all the lights out. Well while browsing through App World on my BlackBerry PlayBook I came across Kodoku 2 (not sure what happened Kodoku).

There’s been many pre-reviews and small hands on clips/images of the BlackBerry Bold 9900 online already.  We got our full hands on back at BlackBerry World this year as well.  A blog called Tracy and Matt has out out a almost 20 minute clip reviewing the BlackBerry Bold 9900.  It’s good to watch in one shot as it seems we get a little bit of everything from watching several of these, where it’s all here in one single clip.

Angry Farm was the first knockoff of Angry Birds for BlackBerry, and it did well for a while but still wasn’t the same as Angry Birds that we see on other platforms such as iOS and Android.  So XIMAD let us know about a game they recently developed and officially launched called Pandas vs Ninjas.  You guessed right! It’s another Angry Birds alternative for BlackBerry, some may agree it looks better than Angry Farm.  XIMAD called Pandas vs Ninjas the “best Angry Birds alternative for BlackBerry.”  You make your own judgements on that, but it is overall an enjoyable game given the limited hardware BlackBerry has currently.

It was frustrated for some BlackBerry users to see that the PlayBook received a little change in keyboard layout.  This was mainly with the caps key (aA) and symbols key (123 sym) being switched around.  CrackBerry put a side by side comparison of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and BlackBerry Torch 9810, showing that BlackBerry 7 OS gets the same layout as the PlayBook.  We also notice the spaces between the keys are a bit more spaced out and no longer round edged keys.

BlackBerry users have become very creative with what they feel BlackBerry should be like today.  We’ve seen the BlackBerry 8 OS insight already which was really in depth and fascinating to see done.  Our reader Imran has shared his creativity with us of a concept BlackBerry smartphone idea that’s quite interesting.  The idea struck when he purchased his BlackBerry PlayBook after already being a loyal BlackBerry smartphone user.  Here’s some points he brings up about the concept device:

As we approach more BlackBerry devices to officially launch, we’ll see FCC approvals come out.  Here we have the BlackBerry Torch 9810 get FCC approval at last, still with no official announcement from RIM on it.  At least with the Bold 9900 and PlayBook we saw them both announced then later FCC approvals.  The remainder of BlackBerry devices set to launch are pretty much left in the dark for now, as it seems appropriate for RIM to at least announce them.
