IM+ from Shape Services had out on Google+ a little letter in regards to RIM pretty much ignoring them about their PlayBook application, and that it’s been a while since they heard anything.  Ronen from BerryReview spotted that the IM+ client for PlayBook has been submitted, but remains to be under review for two whole months now!

It’s very unfortunate that App World is the only way to load apps on the BlackBerry PlayBook.  On BlackBerry smartphones, we are able to sideload apps through the browser which is a key benefit to developers and their beta testing of applications.  In best hopes this is just a mistake with the whole two month wait for IM+ but that seems too optimistic to consider at this point in time.  Any way, here’s the letter SHAPE Services put out on Google+, which looks like their last straw on trying to find out what’s going on with their IM+ app for PlayBook.

Developers haven’t been too happy lately.  It appears RIM’s signing server was having issues, and there was no official statements made until now.  On the BlackBerry Developers Blog, we see an “explanation” and a quick reminder that the servers are up and running again and that RIM figured out what was wrong.  Here’s the full post:

Hello BlackBerry developer community, it’s Tyler Lessard here. I head up the Developer Relations team here at Research In Motion® (RIM®). As some of you are aware, we recently had some issues with the stability of our code signing servers. Earlier this week, BlackBerry® developers were not able to sign their applications during periods of downtime of the code signing service. The issues that we experienced have now been resolved and I’d like to apologize to the community for this situation. We realize this can be a disruption to your business and we take issues like this very seriously.

With hundreds of Bluetooth headsets on the market, picking the wrong headset is a common mistake. It is not an easy choice cyphering through all the options to find the right headset for you. As far as Bluetooth headsets go, there is a newer and better solution day in and day out but one headset offers a feature another may not. One headset that seems to pack all the right punches without compromise is the Sound-ID 510. Sound-ID is one of those companies that are less heard of but have been around since the turn of the century. The company has developed headsets in the past but all with the dedication to their mission statement “combining deep knowledge of the human ear with cutting-edge Bluetooth technology and patented adaptive noise compensation techniques.” The company was founded by an Otologist which proves they have a dedicated to pursuit to delivering perfection in sound via Bluetooth. One of their latest products which we will deeply cover in this review is the Sound-ID 510.

Once upon a time 4G news didn’t phase us since BlackBerry devices were behind in the technology.  It’s nice knowing the future of BlackBerry does include 4G, starting with the BlackBerry Bold 9900.  T-Mobile let us know about some great news on getting faster 4G in more locations.  Full press release after the jump.

As much as I think BlackBerry is the most perfect OS in the universe I recognize there are a few things that just frustrate me, that I hope will be addressed with the new BlackBerry 7 OS, and QNX.

One thing that is rather frustrating is why is it that when an app is updated my BlackBerry has to reboot. In a world where time is money and consumers as well as businesses demand quick results, this slows down productivity, networking and communication down. On a BlackBerry this process consumes too much time, even with improved boot time on the BlackBerry devices (with OS 5.0 and below it could take up to 12 mins, and with OS 6 about 7 mins).

River Test for BlackBerry is back with a sequal.  This one’s called Jealous Husbands.  For those who didn’t play the first, River Test is a strategic game where you have to get people across a river on a two seater boat.  The idea is that you can’t have certain people alone on the island as they may not get along and people on the boat have to be matches.  For example: Mom and Dad can travel together, but daughter can’t travel across without Mom.

In the sequel, husbands and wives are pretty much unseparable and they can’t leave their wives alone on the island with other men on there.  How faithful.

You can grab it for both the PlayBook and for BlackBerry smartphones free from BlackBerry App World.  Click the link below to read more info on it or to download directly.

Wouldn’t that be awesome?  As soon as I read the rumor over at N4BB, I immediately thought of Microsoft Outlook, and how great it would be to have on the BlackBerry PlayBook.  But saying that Microsoft Office is coming to the PlayBook doesn’t necessarily mean Outlook is included.  We may very well only see Word, Excel and PowerPoint make its way, but the full package would be nice.  How about Microsoft OneNote?  OneNote was really designed around tablet PCs with the drawing and moving stuff around in the notebook features.

Not a huge deal for some since the BlackBerry Torch 9800 has been out for about a year now and has been available in white flavor too for some time now.  Keep in mind the BlackBerry Torch 9810 is underway as well, so it only makes sense to slowly start stepping away from the device.  Rogers will continue carrying the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in black color, but it won’t be around in white anymore.

So today we are expecting to see the BlackBerry PlayBook get an update, as it was slightly rumored earlier in the week.  Now BBin is suggesting that this update contains UI changes.  As seen above we’ll be seeing Video Chat get a refresh in its user interface adding a few more options.  It’s suggested that Bluetooth headset will be compatible, which I would be fond of as a feature.
