Finally we see the all touchscreen Curve live! Before they were rendered images, and for the first time we see what the device actually looks like. The BlackBerry Curve 9380 shares some of the same cosmetics as the Torch 9850 and 9860. The backside looks very typical of Curve so that remains to be signature. The front is all touchscreen with a trackpad and typical button layout to its left and right ( call button, BlackBerry menu button, back, end call button).

Leave It On is a simple free application for BlackBerry. You might want to keep the backlight on your BlackBerry on if you’re using an app that requires you to look down at it frequent. Google Maps is a good example. You might be going somewhere and are constantly looking down at your BlackBerry to see what the next turn is. For some it’s just easier to have the screen stay on, rather than continuously pushing a button to turn the screen back on. Features include:

All the BlackBerry releases lately have been for the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Torch 9810. Finally we’re seeing some action for the Torch 9860. It’s RIM’s all touchscreen BlackBerry device, which hopefully will be a better experience than we saw with the Storm series. Any way, Telus is scheduled to get the Torch 9860 on August 29th according to this leaked screenshot. It’s kind of blurry, but it’s a definite that it says August 29th.

StarTech is a lead provider of connectors for everything technology related. In this case we take a look at a USB cable they make which has both micro and mini USB ends. This may not be savvy for everyone, but in my case I have some devices that connect to my computer via mini USB and of course my BlackBerry smartphone connects through micro.

We let you know when BlackBerry PlayBook launched about websites that worked very well on the native browser. One site in particular was box.net. For those of you who are not familiar with Box, it is a cloud storage site. Users get 5gb of storage for free when signing up, and box also offers packages with larger storage for a monthly cost.
It looks like Box has finally launched an application for the BlackBerry PlayBook which allows you to upload, and download files into or rom your box account. Also, you can save files for offline access. Go ahead and check it out. This is a must have app, and it is free. Check it out here.

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 is expected to launch tomorrow officially for Rogers in Canada. Some have already gotten their hands on the device as stores sell them off a bit earlier than launch date. When the BlackBerry Torch 9810 was originally announced, we were hinted that it would come in white as well, but weren’t sure if the color would be available at launch. Now we see in this screenshot that the Torch 9810 is available in both white and black so you won’t have to wait 6 months into the device’s launch for new colors to be available.

So far it really seems like the United States is last in line when it comes to the launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9900. We have been fussing about that a lot lately, more or so out of the jealousy we have for those already playing with 9900′s and 9810′s before us! India has picked up the Bold 9900 officially today for the price of Rs. 32,490 which is about $700 USD. The launch was expected to be later on, so it definitely caught citizens off guard who were waiting around for the device. There’s no word on other OS 7 devices including the Torch 9810 and Torch 9850/9860 but the Bold definitely suffices.
