With the BlackBerry Curve 9360 just officially out as of last week, there’s already plans for it in different colors. According to MobileSyrup who received this image, the Curve 9360 is coming in white and pink. As always, BlackBerrys continue looking fresh in white, and pink obviously targeted more towards a female audience. Which color is for you or do you prefer black?

The BlackBerry Bold 9900 series is the best of both worlds when it comes to choosing your next device. It gives you both touchscreen and fully QWERTY in the form factor many prefer which eliminates sliding (like the Torch) and provides a very slim body. A new commercial for the Bold 9900/9930 has popped up on the BlackBerry YouTube channel called “Harmony.” In this 30 second clip you get to see how touchscreen combined with the full QWERTY keyboard and trackpad work great together in messaging and multimedia. The BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 is currently available in the US for Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile on August 31st. It’s out for a handful of carriers in Canada and other countries abroad.

The guys over at MaxPDA came up with a new leaked image which does nothing but raise questioning. You got to love leaked photos where they’re low budget quality which calls for further conspiracy. The suspected situation here is that this is a QNX BlackBerry device, but the screen is pretty unclear to determine that. What we know about the new QNX BlackBerry is that it will be a full touchscreen device and this one here has a keyboard. The author takes a guess at it and says it could be the BlackBerry 9980 and could just be an OS update addition other than what we have today with OS 7.
It doesn’t look like the familiar BlackBerry form factor we are used to although it has full QWERTY and the standard BlackBerry buttons we’ve always had. Still something about it that doesn’t seem right which always calls for suspicion that this could be a fake. What are your thoughts? Share them in the comments!
Tips & Tricks »

- Use text messaging to communicate instead of voice calls. Text messaging has a greater success rate in getting through the network during high-usage periods.
- Keep your calls short in duration.
- Utilize Wi-Fi calling if your device has the feature. This feature takes advantage of your in-home data connection to place calls in case the cellular network is congested or down.
- Make sure your phone is fully charged prior to the storm. Consider obtaining a vehicle charger in the event of power loss.

Earlier this week we let you know about the Need for Speed Shift 3D demo that came on the BlackBerry Torch 9810 from AT&T. The game works real smooth and holds rich graphics. The demo wasn’t available in BlackBerry App World for some reason, and the same download link did not work for any other device besides the Torch 9810. The folks over at CrackBerry spotted a link for it that worked on the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 so for those who want to try it can by downloading it using the link below.

No one likes to drink on their own. Beer Buddy for BlackBerry allows you to invite your friends out for a beer sending a notification to them via BBM 6 with your GPS location. It will natively use BlackBerry Maps, so don’t worry about it not working on your friends’ BBM. There are over 17 different invites you can send out to them for occasions including birthdays and celebrations of all sorts. Your friends do not need to have Beer Buddy to receive and RSVP to the invitation either. As long as you have it, you can send it out to them and they can respond thanks to the app being BBM connected. According to the app description, you’ll need BBM v5 or above.
I guess you can just natively send out your location via BBM and call it a day. With Beer Buddy you get it a bit more customized with an actual invitation and such.

This may not be the most savvy application, but some are anal about keeping text messages on file. There’s a ton of apps out there that will back your text messages up and here’s another one called Text Message Backup. With this app, you can back your text messages up to your email inbox. Might be a bit frustrating getting emails for it, but maybe you can setup an email address which isn’t setup on your BlackBerry to save all the texts in, just an idea. You be the judge!
