BerryWeather is one of those must have applications, like many other apps that Bellshare puts out.  There’s a bunch of free and premium weather apps out there, but I find BerryWeather to be the best out of all them, which is definitely why it’s offered as a premium app rather than a freebie.  Any way, you can get it for $4.99 only, as the normal price is $9.99.  Click the link below to check out more info on BerryWeather or to grab a copy while the sale’s around.

Whether or not the application is worth it, I felt it was necessary to show the BlackBerry PlayBook application price tagged at $89.99.  Pro Football Weekly has released quite a few applications for the BlackBerry PlayBook including Pro FootBall Insider and Fantasy Football Insider.  This 90 dollar one is called Pro Football Picks Insider.  Here’s some of the stock description:

Pro Football Weekly will give you everything you need to bet with confidence. Our deep vault of premium handicapping content includes staff picks for every game, weekly locks, guaranteed winners, expert advice, insider rumors, over/under recommendations, point-spread analysis, historical trends and more. It is the essential tool for professional and recreational bettors alike.

Football fans, check out the application for yourselves and let us know if it’s worth it to you.  There’s a BlackBerry smartphone version of the app for $59.99 as well.

Great news for developers today as RIM has made improvements on location services with WiFi geolocation.  To use location services before you to have it tie into the GPS and of course with WiFi geolocation, it makes things a lot easier now.  By finding the WiFi networking you’re connected too, your location can be revealed.  Make sense?  The APIs are for devices with OS 6.0 or higher.  Now imagine how much easier it’ll be to pinpoint your location indoors when a GPS signal is weak, but a WiFi signal is strong!

Check out more on the APIs at the BlackBerry Dev Blog >>

T-Mobile stores are beginning to get BlackBerry Curve 9360 dummy units in today.  With still no official announcement from the company, we find a bit strange for it to occur.  Usually we get an official announcement from the carrier and later on right before launch we see dummy units come up.  I’m hoping this one’s not a soft release since the Curve 9360 is definitely the best bang for your buck when it comes to BlackBerry including OS 7, 3G, WiFi, 480 x 360 resolution (rather than 320 x 240), and rocks NFC!  Only other device that does is the Bold 9900/9930.  Any way, here’s some pictures of the device our tipster sent out in all its angles.  It’s a pretty slim phone isn’t it?

Thanks Bogizo for the tip!

The China exclusive BlackBerry Bold 9788 just got its own official promo video.  It was surprising to see another 9700 series launch now, but this isn’t the first time we see RIM go out their way and make a device for one country like that.  We saw the Curve 8910 which was another variation of the 8900.  Now the 9788 is the latest and greatest from RIM for China Mobile customers.

UberSocial for BlackBerry just got updated to version 1.251.  As it is most of the time, there’s a huge change log with specific changes that include a bunch of bug fixes, support for OS 7, and new features.  Here’s the full change log:

  • Direct support for the latest OS 7 BlackBerry devices
  • For BlackBerry OS 6.0 and 7.0 devices we now support the home screen message notification bar so DMs, @replies/mentions and inner circle tweets will show up there for quick access from the device home screen. When you see the mini UberSocial icon, click the bar and the tweets/DMs that caused the notification will be displayed along with a snippet of the tweet. Clicking the tweet snippet will take you directly to it.
  • Fixed bug where tweets would not open on some touch screen devices when you touched them
  • Fixed bug where trending topics descriptions would sometimes overlap in the list.
  • Fixed issue caused by twitter wrapping all URLs with t.co shortened links, this affected twitlonger, tmi.me, myloc.me and mypict.me links

Last time around we saw the BlackBerry PlayBook featured in Pitbull’s music video.  By now it’s no surprise that BlackBerry smartphones make way to celebrities and music videos.  Now we see Jennifer Lopez clearly using the BlackBerry Bold 9900 (no carrier branding).  She is looking at an old photo of herself and some she misses, hence the purpose of the song I guess? Any way, enjoy the quick few second of Bold action (it’s in the beginning).  Video after the jump.

BlackBerry Messenger recently got extracted from a Curve 9360 OS earlier this morning.  The version of BBM is 6.0.0.130, not a huge jump from where we are now, but apparently is a stable build.  Keep in mind, this works for OS 7 only.  Even though the OS is official and build is stable, remember to back up!
