kik messenger 2-0

UPDATE: This is just the latest version of Kik Messenger here.  Rumor spread out as it was a leak when it is just the latest build available.  You can still go ahead and download.

Kik Messenger has been missing in action for a pretty long time now.  Last we heard, RIM was suing them for patent infringement and there really hasn’t been much about it since then.  Now we’re seeing Kik Messenger 2.0 leaked out with an OTA supporting BlackBerry 7 OS devices.  Pretty weird.  I’d grab a copy while the link stays live as something tells me that won’t be lasting very long..

BBM Music has just received its first update since launch in BlackBerry Beta Zone.  There’s a full change log with some nice new features and known issues.  If you spot anything else drop us a line!  Of course BBM Music is still in closed beta so only those who are participating in the testing program via Beta Zone can update to this latest version.  Hit the jump for the full change log:

We have Popcorn Rush for BlackBerry PlayBook which is sort of like Fruit Ninja.  The only difference is that it’s popcorn you have to pop, and has its own “poison” you have to look out for.  Now we have a BlackBerry fix with Ninja Fruit Bash.  In this game, you have to slice up fruit as much as you can to gain more points.  Look out for the bombs as they pop out spontaneously as well.

Ninja Fruit Bash is only $2.99 to purchase from the PocketBerry Store.  Click the link below for more screenshots or to purchase.

I recall this game being free before, and named BlockBerry.  Anyone else remember that?  Any way, Papped just put out Blockade for BlackBerry which is now available in our app store.  It’s pretty much identical to Tetris with the same gameplay where you have to stack up blocks and have rows eliminated by filling them up completely left to right.  Even though this one does not appear to be free anymore, it’s still only 99 cents, and you can’t hate on it for that.  Click the link below for more screenshots and to purchase it.

Compatibility: Torch 9800, Bold 9700, Bold 9780, Curve 8520, Curve 8900, Curve 9300 3G

discover now 1discover now 2

Discover Now is a free application for the BlackBerry PlayBook intended to show demos of the PlayBook, exemplifying how it’s all done (for the most part).  It’s great for those still getting acquainted with their tablets, or for retailers who currently sell the PlayBook.  It’s not a small file, as it stands at 244MB so prepare for lots of marketing material inside.  Check it out free at BlackBerry App World for PlayBook.

Remember Magic Eye? This is pretty much the same thing.  You have to stare down hard at an image and then 3D images will appear.  Be patient with it and it’ll work – I hear people complain all the time that it doesn’t work but it does for those who are doubtful.

It’s 99 cents to buy at App World for PlayBook and honestly think it’s worth it.  Some of these images are cool.  Can you figure out the one above?

It’s been a little while since we’ve done theme giveaways so here’s one to start off fresh.  UMG Apps recently launches PlaySeven, a theme dedicated to OS 7 and looks just like it.  There’s plenty of them out there, and here’s one of the better ones.  To get the theme free, simply use the coupon code “playsevenpb10” at checkout and you’ll get the theme free.  Remember, it’s first come first serve and only for 10 copies!

Not sure if this is confirmed but I figured the best way to find out is by your inputs here on the blog.  We received a handful of emails of people on the east coast in North America about BBM not working, not enough to assume there’s an outage but I have been experiencing BBM issues all night.  It looks like my email is affected too so it might be BIS as a whole.  I’ve tried on my Bold 9930 and Sprint 9850 while both are having issues sending and receiving BBMs.  Some BBMs come received way later all at one time so something must be wrong.  Let us know if you’re having issues in your area!

I’m starting to think this BlackBerry is “legit” to a certain extent. I mean the device design is just too much to bare, but it clearly is running BlackBerry OS. I just don’t understand it at all like many of you out there. Now we’re seeing the BlackBerry Bold 9980 side by side with the Bold 9900 from T-Mobile. If you’re familiar with the new Bold 9900, then you’ll understand the dimensions of this very hideous Bold 9980.

It might just be like the Style 9670 when it launched where many hated it, but gained some likeage after seeing the device in person. Hit the jump for more photos of the couple.

We’re just getting into OS 7, and already RIM is ahead of the game with innovations of QNX OS on BlackBerry smartphones.  Next month at BlackBerry DevCon, RIM has promised to show off these QNX enabled BlackBerry devices.  I’m sure along with this we’ll be seeing some sessions on QNX for mobiles so developers can get the ball rolling with their apps soon enough.  Last year we saw the same tutorials and sessions on QNX for PlayBook when RIM officially announced it.  PlayBook OS 2.0 is set to launch after DevCon 2011 as well and we’ll be seeing it hands on there.
