Purchasing music may not be for everyone, but for those who support their artists, or just like to stay on the legal side then you’ll find this method worthy.

Before I get into the process let’s state the obvious terms.  Shazam is an application that allows you to tag songs you’re listening to.  When I say “tagging” I mean that you can be in a car or club listening to a good song you like, then you open Shazam up on your BlackBerry, and Shazam will tell you the name of the song, artist, album, etc.  Pretty cool stuff.  Shazam lets you tag up to 5 songs a month free, or you can grab the premium version for $5.99 which gives you unlimited tags.

The BlackBerry Torch 9860 has hit the Middle East big today as it launches in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.  The Torch 9860 offers the largest screen as far as BlackBerry devices go.  With a resolution of 800 x 480, you’ll enjoy seeing more on your screen, making it a multimedia powerhouse.  Typing is a breeze with OS 7′s enhanced keyboard which is a lot more responsive.  In portrait mode you can choose QWERTY or SureType and in landscape mode it’s a very comfortable QWERTY keyboard.  Here’s some quick specs on the Torch 9860:

We’ve seen both the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380, but now we see them photoed together.  Seeing them side by side, it’s quite obvious that the size is similar.  The Bold is running OS 7.0.0.344, where the Curve doesn’t show its running operating system.  More images below for those still checking the device out or haven’t yet.

Thanks Arnold for the tip!

I guess we can all agree that there’s one too many cross platform chat applications.  If only we could have one uniform that everyone agreed to then all would be well.  Or everyone could just go BlackBerry and BBM it up.  Any way, eBuddy has released a cross platform messenger aside from their all in one which is available for BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone.  You be the judge of it and let us know how you like it.

Now with the latest version of YouVersion not only can you share verses via twitter, facebook, text or email, but also with BBM contacts.  Some other newer features that were added was a badge system for bookmarking verses,  subscribing to your first reading plan, and sharing a bible reference etc.

Earlier today BGR put out another BlackBerry leak, this time for the BlackBerry Curve 9380.  For those who don’t recall, the Curve 9380 is an all touchscreen Curve, something we haven’t seen before in this family.  In the photos we see it side by side with the Torch 9850/9860 so you can see the comparison in size.  It looks to be taking the same JM-1 battery as seen in the Bold 9900/9930, Torch 9850/9860, and unreleased Bold 9790.  It’s nice to see uniform standard batteries across the board, leaving Torch 9810 out of course since it’s identical to last year’s original Torch 9800.  Any way, more images of the new Curve after the jump!

It’s not the first time we see this come up.  Last year we saw RIM patent rotating keyboards where you’d get QWERTY one way and numeric the other.  Now we’re seeing further patents filed from RIM which focuses around having a “customizable keyboard.”  Here’s how RIM describes it:

A customizable keyboard for a handheld electronic device is provided. The keys of the keyboard are rotatable, either individually or in groups, either under manual control of a user of the device or by means of one or more micro-motors or solenoids controlled by a microprocessor running software on the device. The keyboard may be integrated in the device or may be detachable therefrom.

Are we already on version 6 with Wikitude for BlackBerry? Yes actually even though OS 7 devices just launched.  It’s not like we started at version 1 with it any way.  For those unaware, Wikitude is a free app that has been pushed out a lot for BlackBerry 7 devices bringing you augmented reality.  Find anything around you including BBM users (creepy), places, and more.  Unfortunately for v6.0.8, there is no change log, and App World might not have this version out yet, but when launching Wikitude you shall be prompted to update.
