It’s football season already, and some of you may want to follow on the game schedule.  There’s a new app called NFL2011 Schedule in our application store which allows you to export whichever games you want to watch this season to your native BlackBerry calendar app.  Surely you can just input everything yourself manually but apps always make that easier for you.  It’s 99 cents to buy which might be an inconvenience but you be the judge of that.

ispeech bushispeech obama

iSpeech comes in two flavors – one dedicated to President Obama, and the other to former President George W Bush.  With these apps, you can make them say whatever you want by typing it into a text box and then they’ll repeat it.  The voices are pretty damn accurate and can be rather entertaining with friends or just making yourself laugh.  The apps are available for both BlackBerry smartphones and BlackBerry PlayBook.  That’s what we need folks – apps that go on both the tablet and smartphone.  Let’s see more of this please!

cfl mobile for playbook

The Canadian Football League (CFL) has launched their official application on the BlackBerry PlayBook this past weekend.  With the official CFL app, you can follow up on game dates, latest news, photos from the game, and more.  You can tune into the social section of the app where you’ll be able to have conversations with other fans (and haters I’m sure).

The mysterious BlackBerry Bold 9980 made its mysterious appearance in a bunch of photos then later on with a full hands on video.  Now we’re seeing stock images of the device, but there’s no telling if they’re legitimate leaked ones or just leaked out.  The description translated at BerryCN mentions “design concept” but we all know how translations get misunderstood.  One more pic after the jump!

bold 9980 side

Last week we let you know about the BlackBerry Bold 9980 images that came out.  Along with that erupted all sorts of confusion since this device is nothing like we’ve ever seen come from RIM before.  Nothing about it makes sense, but it has a lot of characteristics that the Bold 9900 has including the volume keys with the mute button in between, charging contacts on the bottom for a dock, and the lock/standby button up top.  It seems to be running OS 7 with touchscreen capability and China Mobile seems to be the running carrier on it.  The folks over at BerryCN have posted up a video showing the full hands on of the device.  Full video after the jump!

Is it real, is it not? A few weeks ago, we showed you a leaked image of a suspected QNX BlackBerry, which everyone claimed to be fake especially since the first QNX smartphone from RIM is supposted to be full touchscreen.  Now we get a closer look at the device in high quality images and it’s all just way too weird.  It’s got OS 7 on it (that’s what it looks like), full QWERTY keyboard, and a leather back with the BlackBerry logo stamped into it.  The keyboard looks like no other BlackBerry device we’ve seen before and the right side has the new style volume up/down keys with the mute in between them just as we’ve seen with the Bold 9900/9930.  More info and images after the jump!

Last night I saw that the Box.net had an upgrade available so as I downloaded I received an error message during installation.

Install Error: [0008] There was a problem during installation. Please try again.”

Confused, I tried again to install the new update, and without fail I received the same issue. Even after uninstalling the application and trying to reinstall I was going no where and fast. Now I don’t have the original version of the Box.net app or the updated version. After doing some research I came across the BlackBerry PlayBook OTA software loading error codes which can be very helpful, with the exception of this case. Every error code was there except for the one that I received. Everywhere I looked there was no answer.

Lets jump back to the 20th Century for a moment, and think abut PC games. Does anyone remember Pipe Dream? It was on every PC back in the 90′s. The concept was simple. Connect the bricks or pipes to get to the drain. Now lets jump to modern day 21st Century, and welcome Connection for the BlackBerry PlayBook. Connection is very similar to the Pipe Dream game of the 90s with a few differences.
