Bank of America received its huge UI overhaul a few months ago, after pretty much losing support across the board in BlackBerry app development for years.  So far the app has worked great, but does have its small kinks here and there of course.  Last night a new update showed up for the Bank of America app for BlackBerry bringing it up to v3.1.30.  Here’s the change log:

  • Ability to view check images
  • Ability to save multiple Online IDs
  • Bug fixes

Next thing we need is mobile deposits like Chase does! Any way, it’s pretty cool to be able to see your check images directly on your BlackBerry without having to sign in on an actual computer.  The updated app is available in BlackBerry App World.

We already know that Android Player is coming soon to BlackBerry, specifically the PlayBook first then later to QNX BlackBerry smartphones.  It looks like an app called Jobs In Motions has launched for both BlackBerry and Android smartphones.  The idea of the application is to find jobs at Research In Motion in a cool user interface as seen in the app screenshot above.

It’s cool seeing the application come to Android, as RIM will probably want to take on more Android developers or those currently hooked to the device knowing all its ins and outs.  Check out the app at BlackBerry App World and Android Market.

BlackBerry Protect got an update a few hours ago to version 1.0.10.50.  Unfortunately there is no change log here, so we’ll assume it goes out to the behind the scenes bugs you may or may not notice.  As always, let us know if you notice any changes in this build.

khaleej times 1khaleej times 2

Since the BlackBerry PlayBook is now available all over the Middle East, it’s only  fair that applications targeted towards that audience become made available to users there.  Even for those outside the region who just want to tune into international news It’s good.  Khaleej Times brings the latest news in the United Arab Emirates on your BlackBerry PlayBook.

The layout is pretty simple.  You view the main headlines with the ability to click each one to read more on it.  Alternatively you can click the Sections button on the upper right hand corner to select what subject you want to read on.  These include nation news, business, city times, region, international, and sports.  The app is powered by Polar Mobile, as you’ve seen lots of their applications launch for BlackBerry including Hockey News, and many others.

fuoco

Fuoco is a simple and elegant theme for BlackBerry bringing lots of red to your home screen.  The icons as you can see are uniform blocks.  It looks like the six icons displayed are locked down with Profiles, BBM, Facebook, Twitter, Browser and Options.  Messages can be accessed easily by clicking the bottom panel.

If you don’t mind the icons being locked down to these applications then check it out.  For many, those are the main apps used but everyone’s different.

ghosty party 1ghosty party 2

Ghosty Party is another addictive game for BlackBerry where you have to clear out as many ghosts as you can.  To clear them, they have to be the same color and touching one another.  You can have a minimum of two ghosts to clear but of course get more points when you clear out bigger groups of ghosts.
