It was already something new when RIM started advertising applications in their commercials.  Now we’re seeing BlackBerry Messenger get some publicity with the new BBM Social Platform, enabling third party developers to connect their apps to BBM.  So here’s a funny commercial showing BBM integration with Navita Sports for BlackBerry.

We were supposed to have the BlackBerry Curve 9350 from Sprint already, but some delays occurred and the carrier decided to postpone it.  Now a new internal memo has emerged showing a launch date of October 2nd for the BlackBerry Curve 9350 and a few other devices (not BlackBerrys).  Pricing is set at $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate just like T-Mobile.

Pinbook has been in private beta for about two weeks and now has gone “official” for everyone to download, but is still in beta.  For those who haven’t heard of Pinbook, it’s a social network for BlackBerry Messenger.  So you can tune in and check out people’s profiles and photos, then add them to BBM from there.  It’s free to grab now at BlackBerry App World so check it out!

RIM celebrated the BBM Music launch in the United Kingdom with an awesome party that included famous artist and a bunch of BlackBerry products on display.  Here’s a video recap of the night for those who want to check it out.  Wait a second, why is this a launch part for BBM Music when it’s still in private beta?  Video after the jump.

While watching Sunday Night Football Sportsnation asked a question and wanted people to upload their video response to YouTube and the best response would be aired on ESPN’s Sportnation that Friday. So of course being the BlackBerry enthusiast and nerd that I am, I grabbed my PlayBook to see if I could actually record directly to YouTube from my BlackBerry PlayBook. The exciting thing about all of this is it worked, I was able to record, and re record, preview, upload, tag,  and name it just like I would on my computer. The video above is just a short clip of what my experiment produced. The really cool thing about this is that YouTube recognized my hardware, It recognized a QNX microphone as well as a my front facing camera and my rear facing camera.  Here’s some screenshots:

SunTrust Banks has announced today that they have released a mobile banking application. We have seen this becoming a very popular trend by banks. This make it that much more convenient for their customers to manage their bank account from anywhere in the world. With SunTrust Mobile Banking application you know have the ability to:

  • View Accounts
  • View Pending Transactions
  • Transfer Funds
  • Find Locations/ATMs
  • View/Pay Bills

All these features are included in their free user friendly app. So if you are a Suntrust customer and a BlackBerry customer  you can pick point your browser here, or text the word “App” to 786411 since this app is no yet in App World. Hopefully, we will see it their soon enough after approvals if that’s what’s delaying it.

This is nothing you haven’t noticed already.  If you’re a PlayBook user, you probably noticed that over the last week, eBooks have been swamping BlackBerry App World.  For those who don’t like it, don’t worry, they aren’t miscategorized.  All eBooks can be found in the Reference & eBooks section of Apps.  For now they’re just launching rapidly so you’ll be seeing them a lot in the “Newest” section for a bit.  Are you getting any of these eBooks or are you keeping it real with Kobo?

I’m going to start this off with I love my BlackBerry Smartphone as well as my BlackBerry PlayBook regardless of what anaylst or “professionals” say about the BlackBerry Brand. Now, with that being said I always find myself looking for cool little tricks to enhance my experience on my devices. One neat trick I found was using my wallpapers or pictures on my BlackBerry smartphone on my BlackBerry PlayBook.

It is a very easy process and  it sure beats having to download a zip file, and unzip it and connect your PlayBook to the computer etc. There is no computer necessary for this. Here are the steps:
