I’m sure you’ve noticed that AOL Instant Messenger is vacant on newer OS 7 devices. Currently we have WIndows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and Google Talk. Over the last several weeks, we saw a promotional limited time sale for BlackBerry PlayBook tablets including the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB starting at $299.99. The prices are back to their normal $499.99 starting price again. According to an internal document over at Telus, the 16GB BlackBerry PlayBook is set to be discontinued on November 8th. There’s no presence of the 32GB and 64GB models now and we do know that RIM has plans on releasing an LTE model in the second half of 2011. This is a Telus internal document, so it’s uncertain if this is indeed a discontinuation of the device, or just a note that the carrier won’t be providing that model any longer. What are your thoughts?

Note taking a is a very popular task on smartphones. As far as BlackBerry apps go, we have a bunch of great apps for jotting notes down including the native MemoPad app which is simple and to the point. NoteIt makes it even easier to take notes as it places a link in every menu to start typing notes up. This way you don’t have to navigate to your applications folder or home screen searching for a notes app.
The cool part is that all notes you take get automatically saved to MemoPad. You don’t have to go full third party on your notes. Look at NoteIt as a shortcut to your MemoPad from anywhere you want.
