WIND Mobile in Canada has some nice BlackBerry devices launching in the near future. In this roadmap for the carrier leaked out by The Cellular Guru, we see the BlackBerry Bold 9900, Torch 9810, and Bold 9790. Now we already have the Torch 9810 and Bold 9900 launched on many other carriers worldwide, but the Bold 9790 still hasn’t launched so it’s interesting to see in this lineup. Unfortunately there’s no estimated launch date for it or any of the other devices but I’m sure we’ll see them soon.

Kik Messenger is finally back on BlackBerry. There was a lawsuit against the company from RIM for a while, and that news slowly faded out. A few weeks ago, we saw Kik launch a soft release of it on their site making it seem top secret for comic relief purposes, and now the build is official to download right on their site. So Kik isn’t exactly in BlackBerry App World now, and we don’t know what the future of that stands but you can grab it over the air.
Kik Messenger is a cross platform messenger that’s supported on BlackBerry, iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7. With all platforms covered, it’s easy to keep in touch with friends who don’t have BlackBerry and don’t feel like texting

RIM put up a few videos on their YouTube channel comparing old and new BlackBerry devices side by side. Obviously with the latest OS 7 devices, we see huge improvements from those of the past. The videos include Storm 2 9550 vs Torch 9850, Bold 9700 vs Bold 9900, Curve 8300 vs Curve 98520 vs Curve 9350, and Torch 9800 vs 9810. Hit the jump to view them all.

The outage has been ongoing for a few days now in the EMEA, then hit to the US and Canada just yesterday for certain users. It obviously isn’t a good time for BlackBerry services to experience outages, but RIM for the first time is addressing its BlackBerry users with updates on what’s going on. Here we see RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis address what’s going on with the BlackBerry outage.
An update from RIM’s Founder and Co CEO Mike Lazaridis. Would write more here but gotta jump in the car to head out for an early morning radio interview on all this BlackBerry outage craziness…. watch the video and leave a comment!

A couple of hours ago I found New York Times Crosswords for the BlackBerry PlayBook with a price tag higher than expected. Based on the description, you get a free week of crosswords then you can add 1 month, 6months or 1 year of access. The price shown is $599.99, and does not show any trial available as it displays “purchase” solely. It doesn’t seem right at all, especially since the app is coming fro Magmic. I’m sure we’ll see the price get updated in the next few hours.

It’s no secret that the BlackBerry PlayBook is beginning to receive lots of new games in BlackBerry App World. Thanks to the SDKs RIM has released to developers, it’s possible to play some of the games you’ve see on iOS and Android right on BlackBerry Tablet OS. The games are great so far, and we hope they continue launching. What I’d like to see personally is application improvement. Games are great, but we need apps too! Surely there’s a bunch of great apps, but I feel we can still see better improvement such as making it cosmetically and functionally better. What apps do you want to see on the BlackBerry PlayBook?
