That’s not a good sign.  It looks like AT&T has removed its tweet which stated that the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is coming soon.  When the tweet took off, we got a tip from a AT&T/BlackBerry rep that the Bold would be launching as soon as next week.  Now with the tweet removed we have our doubts.  I’m just hoping we don’t have a delay like the Bold 9000 did.

We have seen pictures and other images of the p’9981 in the past, and now RIM has made all of it official today. Welcome the Porsche designed P’9981 for BlackBerry. Packed with a 1.2GHz processor, HD video recording, advanced sensors enabling new augmented reality applications, and 8GB of internal memory with the support of up to 32GB of expandable Micro SD card. A few years ago when a BlackBerry outage spread worldwide for a day, there was tons of complaints, and it all ended there.  This time around it went a bit different.  According to Financial Post, a class action lawsuit has been filed against RIM for the recent outage which received a lot of sour media coverage.  The lawsuit was filed in Quebec Superior Court by Consumer Law Group Inc.  It is being filed “on behalf of individuals who have BlackBerry smartphones and who pay for a monthly data plan but were unable to access their email, BlackBerry Messenger service (BBM), and/or Internet for the period of October 11 to 14, 2011.”

This past week PocketBerry traveled to San Francisco to take part of both BBM Hackathon and DevCon. Both events were exciting and full of great new information and exposure to what RIM is launching in the very near future. BBM Hackathon now known as BlackBerry Jam Sessions, has a lot to offer to current BlackBery developers and for first time BlackBerry developers. San Francisco was the fourth stop for the Hackathon event lineup, with many more events worldwide.

BlackBerry Jam Session in San Francisco had such a great atmosphere with developers from all over the world anxious to get to work with developing applications that are integrated for BBM (BBM Connected). For those who aren’t familiar here are some of the key features:

A few weeks ago we let you know about the BlackBerry Bold 9900 getting Mobile Mastercard approval.  Now it looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9360 has joined in the approval as well.  According to the press release, both these devices are the world’s first SIM-based smartphones to get MasterCard PayPass Handset Certification.  Pretty neat.  Below is the full press release from MasterCard.
