It’s real and it’s happening! For a few weeks now we’ve been teased that a Blackberry Torch 9810 would be headed over to T-Mobile. We still don’t know when, but with all the leaks we’ve been getting, it has to be soon! We got a few photos of a T-Mobile BlackBerry Torch 9810 arriving at a corporate store for display. There are no actual live units yet but it’s pretty exciting to see it on another carrier other than AT&T. As you guessed, it will run on T-Mobile’s 4G network and will support UMA. Sweet! More photos after the jump.

I’m loving the consistent roll out of quality games on the BlackBerry PlayBook lately. Ever since DevCon (and even a bit before), we’ve been seeing all sorts of great game finally launch. Pricing was a bit high for the higher quality games, but with all the variety available now in App World, there’s a bunch of free and cheap ones too. The Last Stand: Zombie Apocalypse is an addictive game, only 99 cents in price and may very well keep you occupied for quite a bit.
There’s campaign and survival modes on it in which both you have to kill off zombies with weapon upgrades available.

Now we get a better look at the BlackBerry Bold 9790. Yesterday we saw a leaked picture of the device which was a bit blurry, but clear enough to make out the new individual menu buttons. The folks over at CrackBerry got some images of the 9790 side by side with the former Bold 9700 so you can see the differences better. Hit the jump for more photos.

RIM put out a couple of tutorial videos for the BlackBerry PlayBook- one that shows you how to update your OS (which is a no brainer if you ask me, but you never know) and another which exemplifies how to use the native Music Store on the PlayBook powered by 7Digital. Hit the jump to check out the second clip.

During BlackBerry World 2011, we were promised by the one and only Mike Lazaridis that Angry Birds was headed to the BlackBerry PlayBook, and here we are still empty handed. At DevCon we got to see many different games get ported over to the BlackBerry PlayBook including Cut The Rope, and many other famous titles on other OS platforms.
With that said, we should be getting Angry Birds now along with all these great game titles. There’s no telling what the delay is, whether it’s from RIM, or Rovio simply stalling because they want out of the BlackBerry platform completely. Is anyone else itching for a fix or are you over it?

We saw Reckless Racing already make its debut to the BlackBerry PlayBook during DevCon last week and another game from Polarbit surfaces called Reckless Getaway. In this game, you’re obviously a bad ass outlaw running from the police and dodging vehicles and obstacles in your way. It’s a good game to get some quick action in and of course kill time. Get it at App World for $2.99.

FInally we have an application for download and upload speed testing on the BlackBerry PlayBook. It’s tradition to have one for every platform (iOS, Android, BlackBerry). Although it was possible to go on various speed test websites from the PlayBook web browser and do it that way. Now we have a free application called Speedtest HD which measures your download and upload speeds on the BlackBerry PlayBook. Features include:
- Measure you download and upload speed
- Measure you latency
- Show your max upload and download speed
- Keep track and view your Speedtest results history
- Access to worldwide servers used for localized testing

There goes all the thoughts and guesses on how RIM was going to get BBM working in two places at the same time from a single account. RIM has broken down the bad news which originated as rumors today on a delayed BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 launch. The expected launch date is February which is far more delayed than we expected. Then we have no BBM support on it natively, but will continue to be Bridge if we want to. Continue reading to check out the full statement from RIM.
We know that many of you are looking forward to BlackBerry® PlayBook™ OS 2.0, and we wanted to provide you with an update on the progress that we’re making.
As much as we’d love to have it in your hands today, we’ve made the difficult decision to wait to launch BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 until we are confident we have fully met the expectations of our developers, enterprise customers and end-users. And here’s what we’re doing to accomplish that.

The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is set to launch anytime soon since it’s been rumored that the device would before the end of the year. Also numerous carriers have it in their systems already so we can’t be so far off. Some specs of the Bold 9790 include 640 x 480 resolution (like the Bold 9900), 8GB internal storage, full QWERTY keyboard, and touchscreen supposedly. Here we see the menu keys appearing different than the 9700. To me it looks more like the BlackBerry Torch 9850/9860.

Bomberman vs Zombies is a fun and free game available for BlackBerry. It takes the classic Bomberman game and twists it with zombies as the enemy. The game just updated to version 1.0.2 which looks to be a maintenance release. Here’s the official note:
“Crashes were fixed. The problem with BB 9810 was solved. At the moment we are improving the gameplay control. New updated version is coming soon. Thank you for your feedback!”
So we should be expecting more updates in the future and this one was pretty much aimed at Torch users who experienced issues or just overall crashes.
