BlackBerry Bridge updated earlier this morning to version 1.0.7.4. It’s nice to see a Bridge update since usually an OS update comes to the BlackBerry PlayBook after, but this doesn’t seem to be the case for now. Perhaps it ties in with users on OS 2.0 on their PlayBooks. So for those running the developer beta, let us know if you see Bridge working!

- *Fixed* Tweet Refresh – Notifies on every Tweet and not according to time specified in application Options
- *Fixed* Social Feeds – Unable to view user profiles of multiple @mentions
- *Fixed* Social Feeds – Cannot respond to a Tweet from selected account
- *Fixed* Universal Search – Message thread does not open
- *Fixed* Messages – Moving cursor to the right in message list causes the list to scoll to the bottom (should go up or down one line)

It’s great to see game titles from other platforms such as iOS and Android launch on the BlackBerry PlayBook. Downhill Bowling 2 is a hit game I played on Android for a while and now it has come to the BlackBerry PlayBook officially from Union. If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a very unique bowling game where you have to navigate the bowling ball through a whole level and knock over bowling pins as they show up. There’s different points to collect and obstacles to go through as you progress.
Downhill Bowling 2 is only 99 cents to purchase at BlackBerry App World for the PlayBook.

WhatsApp Messenger is always on the prowl for new updates for BlackBerry smartphones. I’m impressed by how on top they’re keeping up with all the bug fixes, additions, and fast OS support. This time we see it update to version 2.6.9372, but there’s no change log here. Let us know if you spot anything new!

Yesterday we got to get a nice first look on the mobile hotspot feature in BlackBerry 7.1 OS. This time from the same source, we get to see a hands on video on how it works. It’s still in Chinese, but it’s better than nothing for those who can’t read the language. The function is pretty straight forward and can all be done from the Mobile Connections drop down menu (press the top of the screen to bring it down). The video is in flash, so unfortunately you’ll have a hard time checking it out via BlackBerry smartphone- it is PlayBook ready though!

Still official pricing, availability, or even an announcement from Research In Motion on this one just yet. For now we get to see the BlackBerry Curve 9380 make its appearance on a Telus flyer. So at least we know a carrier it’s headed to which is over in Canada. As a quick recap on specs, the Curve 9380 is the first all touchscreen Curve sporting a 3.2 inch display as 480 x 360. Inside is a 800MHz processor, a 5MP camera on the back with 720p HD video recording. It of course isn’t the top notch BlackBerry to get, but it’s definitely an excellent starter device which should be offered at a low premium.
