So Black Friday is coming nice this year as the BlackBerry PlayBook has received a really awesome price cut. We saw prices drop around $299 in the past which was a steal, but now many major retailers in the United States and Canada. The new price promotion is $199, and it looks like many folks are catching on to it. If you really think about it, it’s a steal when comparing to other tablets in that price range (Amazon Fire). Click the link below to see all the retailers RIM has listed.

Native applications is something we’ve long waited for on the BlackBerry PlayBook. At the BlackBerry Innovation Forum, PlayBook OS 2.0 was shown off a bit. The folks over at BlackBerry Cool got a good look at all the native apps including Calendar, Email, and Contacts.
Cool thing to note is that the native Contacts app is powered by Gist, which is the company RIM acquired a while back. There should be a lot new and cool features in OS 2.0 but we’ll have to wait til February for the official release.
