Twitter for BlackBerry v2.1 has been under beta for a few months now.  The biggest feature we love about this version is the multi-account support which is something folks have wanted to see come to life.  The beta period is over now, and in the next 24 hours you’ll be able to download Twitter for

• BlackBerry v2.1 officially in BlackBerry App World.  Features in the new version include:
• Multi-Account Support – Have up to five accounts on your Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones app. Switch between accounts and cross-post Tweets and Retweets from one account to another without switching the current account view.
• Enhanced “Share with BBM™” functionality – Easily share Tweets with BBM Contacts and Groups.
  View multiple Twitter accounts in a single timeline – View a stream of Tweets from up to five Twitter accounts in the Social Feeds timeline, or opt to filter individual Twitter accounts.
• Post a Tweet to multiple Twitter Accounts – Publish a Tweet to one or more Twitter accounts simultaneously using Social Feeds.

As mentioned before, the update has been officially announced by RIM, and is said to be available for download in the next 24 hours. Keep your eyes open for it!

As usual, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 gets some more OS love.  It’s getting really annoying for 9930 CDMA users who have been anxiously waiting for a new update. Any way, here’s another build- OS 7.0.0.585.  Last time we saw OS 7.1 with mobile hotspot feature and 7.0.0.540 release which included better battery life.  If you decide to download this one, let us know if you notice any ups and downs.

It looks like RIM was quick to release a security update for the BlackBerry PlayBook after Dingleberry launched yesterday to the general public.  The Os version here is 1.0.8.6067.  The description reads:

This version offers support for Flash 10.3 and updates to Adobe AIR to support developers in addition to DST and security fixes.

So there you have it.  Will the be another root or jailbreak?  Time will tell!

It seems like BeepUs grew a bit popular since launch.  For those who missed out on the release, BeepUs is a free push to talk application that links to your BlackBerry Messenger friends.  So any other friends on your BBM list that have BeepUs, you could initiate “chirps” with them and chat as if you were on a Nextel radio style phone.   Any way, BeepUs just updated to version 1.0.3 not bringing any new features but includes “bug fixes and improvements.” Unfortunately the application has been a bit buggy for some users so perhaps we’ll see those phase out into perfection with updates like this one.  As always let us know if you spot anything different.

Usually AT&T is the difficult carrier to deal with.  It was such a hardship with BlackBerry Bridge on the BlackBerry PlayBook and then NFC being blocked on the all new BlackBerry Bold 9900.  AT&T has tweeted up that they will be offering two free months of BBM Music to its customers- sweet!  The tweet reads that you should check your media folder which should have a link to download BBM Music and get the free two month trial.  Otherwise you can download it from BlackBerry App World.

A little while ago we let you know that Chase was releasing their BlackBerry application with check depositing feature.  The wait is officially over as the app is now available in BlackBerry App World.  You can easily take a picture of a check and run your deposit that way rather than going to the bank.  This way you have a copy of your own check, but the money goes into your account!

We’ve seen a few of these “who’s around you” applications for BlackBerry take off, but it doesn’t seem like any are floating on point like they do on iOS and Android.  Badoo is a new application available to BlackBerry which claims to include over 125 million users worldwide.  Give it a shot and let us know what you think.  The user interface definitely looks cleaner than other local social networking apps I’ve seen.

RIM has announced the official dates for BlackBerry World 2012. It will be held next year on May 1st to May 3rd in Orlando, Florida as it has been over the last few years. Next year should be a very exciting time for the company and all its users as we’ll be seeing BBX operating system on mobile devices for the first time.
