If you are looking for a fun retro looking game you want to check out Hazardous Highway for BlackBerry PlayBook. Get in your sports car and race through different challenges dodging traffic, avoiding cops, and obstacles. Hazardous Highway has a very old school (1980s) feel to it. Hazardous Highway has a story mode, where you must run away from cops, speed traps, and barricades, avoid traps, while avoiding crashing and keeping your car refueled. Also play in arcade mode, where you just keep going until you run out of fuel. Either way you want to play it, this is a very fun game.

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 just got an update today from Sprint to OS 6.0.0.706. Although we have OS 7 devices among us, the Bold 9650 still holds its popularity among CDMA users and of course still gets support. Not sure what’s good and what isn’t in this build, but if you spot anything let us know!

We told you about a FREE/Premium app called Slide2Open which brings the “slide to unlock” feature from the iPhone to BlackBerry.  Well the premium version has been updated to version 2.800. Which now brings added support for a 4 digit passcode, just like the iPhone. The premium version brings all the support of the FREE version, as well as no ads, and now passcode support.

For those who haven’t been reading into it, CarrierIQ has been suspected to be in all mobile platforms including Android, Apple, and BlackBerry devices.  CarrierIQ is allegedly helping carriers spy on their customers by letting them spy on all their text messages.  RIM has denied claims that it has ever installed CarrierIQ on any BlackBerry smartphones.  But that doesn’t mean carriers haven’t pushed anything to the devices. In the BlackBerry support forums, people spoke out in concern to the matter where Mark Sohm from RIM spoke out:

RIM is aware of a recent claim by a security researcher that an application called “CarrierIQ” is installed on mobile devices from multiple vendors without the knowledge or consent of device users. RIM will continue to investigate reports and speculation related to CarrierIQ.

The BlackBerry PlayBook root which is going by the name Dingleberry just got its own home.  We’re promised that a root install would be coming out shortly, so the hackers have made a home base to get all that information.

Meanwhile, RIM is investigating the “root claims” as they are questioning whether or not it’s happening but we’ve already seen videos of it active.  Seeing the home page surface only means we should be getting more updates on the PlayBook root soon.  Is anyone going for it staying on the safe side with the original operating system?

The Avatar Builder for BlackBerry got an interesting update today to version 1.5.0.  With this new update, you can download an expansion pack called “Ugly Sweater Expansion Pack.”  The ugly sweaters are referred to as Christmas sweaters, which is funny to see RIM call ugly!  To download the separate expansion pack, you have to update your Avatar Builder first.  Click the links below to download the guy edition or girl edition and the expansion pack.
