When the BlackBerry Bold 9900 was officially announced at BlackBerry World 2011, we learned that the native Music Store would be powered by Amazon.  This was a huge shocker since we were already acquainted with the native Music Store on the BlackBerry PlayBook which was powered by 7Digital.  So having one uniform music database was not ideal.  You could still download the 7Digital music application on your BlackBerry smartphone and have it work that way of course.

Now Music Store v1.1 has entered BlackBerry Beta Zone for some members.  This music store is powered by 7Digital.  There really is no explanation why they went Amazon before after having 7Digital on the PlayBook, but that’s all changing now.  Some users may not see this update available, but you can log in to BlackBerry Beta Zone and check it out.
