RIM held a special event #BlackBerryFanNight in Miami Florida this past Wed. This event was to celebrate and demonstrate the launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook 2.0 OS, as well as showcase the BlackBerry 7 lineup, and show how awesome these two (PlayBook and BlackBerry 7 Smartphones) work together. The event was definitely one to remember. The event was initially to be held at this upscale house that sat right on the river. Arriving back at the venue, there was some sort of misunderstanding involving the police, which was in no way RIM’s fault but more of the venue owner.

You have to thank social networks for this one!  After searching Twitter for information about the event, a couple emails, and a few phone calls we had a new venue; The Mondrian Hotel. Even after short notice RIM was on the ball, providing valet parking to their guests, and the venue was sweet inside and out. Celebrity television personality, and cook book author Ingrid Hoffman was at the event too (pictured after the jump).  Hit the jump for more pictures!
