Gvoice brings Google Voice to the BlackBerry PlayBook.  With this third party client, you can forward calls through your Google Voice number, send and receive text messages, search past conversations, and more!  Unfortunately, there is no voicemail playback for this client just yet.  Perhaps we’ll see the feature roll out in the future.  Here are some highlighted features now available:

  • Forward calls through your Google Voice number
  • Send and receive SMS text messages from your Google Voice number
  • including support for long messages exceeding 160 characters!
  • Archive messages, mark as read or starred, block callers, delete conversations
  • Search past text conversations
  • Do-not-Disturb mode to force all calls to voicemail
  • Automatic new message checking
Gvoice is $1.99 to buy in BlackBerry App World.  If you were looking to make phone calls and listen to your voicemail messages, the app is still not ready for all that.  Otherwise, check it out using the link below for more info or to purchase.

The latest version has added Voicemail (albeit through a flash proxy loaded in the browser, but it does at least work) :)
